do you just eat the seed inside or the entire thing. i know someone who says she can't be bothered to open every one so she eats the entire thing. to me i can't chew the outside. it's like eating a piece of wood

I only eat the seed. Sometimes I mistakenly eat a shell piece, but I think it's silly to only want to eat the entire thing. That just is't how it's done. It tastes funny, it's hard and gritty, and besides they don't take that long to open up. So what's the big deal? Take 3 extra seconds to open the shell.

Hi there. We choose to eat our sunflower seeds roasted in seasame or olive oil... This way is so much tastier and easier to consume...

If they are seasoned I like to eat the outside but if I chew and chew I will just spit it out.

I used to eat them every day of my life when growing up but I rarely eat them now. But when I did eat them, I wouldn't eat the shell and all for it was like eating wood... YUCK. I have heard of others eating the whole thing and I don't get how they do it either. Not me. Just the nut and not the shell.
