Computer Woes continues

I took my computer to Cutcut city and they supposidly fixed it. I brought it home and hooked it up and guess what the VD was still there. Yes the antibiotics did not work the first time. When I spoke to the tech who worked on my computer told me he cleaned my computer out but did not reboot it to check and see if the virus was still there. Now I am not a computer repair person, but give me a break, isnt is common sence to reboot the computer and check it out to make sure it is working OK. Now I have to take it back. Why can't people do the work the first time? I cannot drive anymore so I have to wait until someone can take me down there. I feel they owe me something besides a half hearted appolgize. What do you all think.

I don't think they should charge you more, because they didn't finish the job. If they are doing the job because you have a contract, then they should give you something to make up for the 2nd trip. AND, before you take it home again, make sure they boot it up in front of you!

No they are not adding any more to the cost. The cost is on me to keep going down there and the cost of getting someone to take me there since I cannot drive any longer. I cannot take my tower on the bus with my cane, I could get into the bus while lifting the tower. LOL

Yes, i think they owe you because they actually wasted your time, money, and effort... i hate it when people don't do what they are suppose to do... there should be a law about how customers should be treated...

I took it back in and of coarse the manger was not avaible to talk to but he did call me and appolgized to me several times. I told them I did not want my computer back unless they have rebooted it several times and made sure the virus was gone. I also explained to them that I am disabled and it is a burden for me to bring the computer down to them. So alas I am on my lap top which I hate.

Assuming that they did not do the work for free. Yes, they owe you something for sure. You should call Circuit City and ask to speak to the manager. You should have them send someone out to fix your computer corretly and not charge you another dime. You need to make it clear that you use your computer to earn extra income and that this is affecting that. If you do not get any satifaction, you need to go further up the chain of commands. If nothing else, they need to give you a full refund and a little extra for your trouble.

That is completely unacceptable--and this from a computer repair person? I mean it just makes common sense to reboot a computer after a repair to see if it's working properly. Yes I do think they owe you something, or at least not charge you for THEIR mistake!

That is just sad, common sense is pretty rare these days so I'm not surprised. I don't like that store though anyhow, I once tried to buy a printer there and the sales guy was clueless and rude. I use Best Buy, their Geek Squad is awsome and I see their little cars all over the place, which is great that they can come to you. You might want to give them a try and try to get a refund from the other place since they didn't fix your pc.

The geek squad was 65 dollars for a diagnosistics even though I knew it was wrong and another 200 dollars to remove the virus and two weeks to get the work done. Circut city had the 99 dollar special. Makes me know why they are so cheep. You get what you pay for. LOL

I had no idea those geeks were that expensive and slow! Two weeks? Wow. Well I guess they have to pay for those little cars somehow! I would've gone with the $99 special too, just be a real pain in the butt and maybe they'll fix it just to get rid of you? LOL, it's worth a shot!

That is just unacceptable. They didn't even check their own work to see if it was done. I would pick another repair shop next time. Customer relations are important, and it sounds like they could care less what you think. Did you talk to the owner or manager? I feel you were treated terribly and you shouldn't have to pay for the work since it wasn't done.

I really sympathize with what you had suffered in the event of repairing the computer. Sometimes negligence of doing something though unintentional might cause a lot of troubles to another person. I believe that the tech who repaired your pc was quite an irresponsible person because he didn’t do what he should do as a professional server. To be able to apologize is a good moral value. If we could receive any hearted apology from someone who has made mistake we will normally feel more relaxed and forgive him eventually. Few days back I did send my cpu to a computer shop and luckily the tech was a quite a nice guy. I was quite satisfied with his professional service. Hoping that you had solved your pc problem by now. Good luck.

Absolutely right they owe you something to compensate you for your trouble. I would voice my opinion to the manager as well. I am not a pc expert either, but I do know that you are supposed to reboot and double check to make sure, how do you know they even checked it. That's terrible that now you have to make another special trip to take it to be fixed. I would think they could send someone to your house being as you are not able to drive. Good luck, hopefully they will treat you right this time.
