How would you define a really good family vacation?

What's your idea of the perfect family vacation? Would you go alone with your spouse on a cruise and enjoy the food and fun? Or, would you bring the kids along so that everyone could have a good time? What's the one thing you would not want to do on your ideal vacation? My idea of the perfect family vacation would be a day spent on the beach. Just the three of us alone on a deserted beach strolling along looking for sea shells. And, as we casually pick through the sand looking for treasures, our daughter would splash in the surf, chasing the water and barely letting it nip at her toes. Ideally, this would be at a time of year when tourists had all gone back home, so we would have the entire beach to ourselves. I've been to the beach during those times and it's just heavenly. And, then we would have a hot dog cook out or enjoy deli food that we had brought along in our picnic basket. Since we live so close to the beach, it's a real possibility that this could happen for us. But, with our schedule I'm not sure that it's going to happen before fall. Hopefully during our vacation on the beach, no one would argue or get upset and we would have the perfect one day vacation away from our hum-drum life. That's my ideal vacation. What's yours?

I think that it is much more fun to travel together with the family not alone. Just last year my family of three went a remote mountain area for the summer vacation in the south of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The weather there is nice and cool with a lot of rain in the summer. We visited many special bridges built in the ancient time of China. That is the main regional characteristic of the mountain county.

That sounds ideal! I can't really stand the heat too much. Rain and cool sounds really nice for this time of year. We don't have mountains in this area. But, where I used to live up north, they were all over the place and so beautiful to wake up to in the morning. You could see the mountains from your front window. I moved when I was younger and before I had sense in my head to know that I was living in paradise. Oh, well. Perhaps one day I will take my daughter back and show her the sights. Thanks for dropping by my friend. And, best of luck with your family. Best wishes.

A perfect family vacation is going to the same destination together. And you can decide where to go and when to go. It is free. Especially you won't get a call from work:)

A perfect family vacation would be one where just enough things went right to not ruin it... but just enough went wrong to make it a great memory.

Our vacation time is spent going to see our parents and family and friends back home right now. That's fine, but sometime, I would like to go somewhere, just my husband, son and I. It wouldn't have to be long, just some time to spend together as a family, without having to hurry up or having something going on to distract us. The one rule would be, that while at a hotel, no TV! My husband gets easily distracted by the TV, and my toddler is starting to be the same way. We did go to the playground at the old school the other day, and let Elliott play for a while. It was fun. We walked over, and Elliott was so tired after playing that he had to ride back in the stroller the whole time (it's about 6 blocks away).
