I use liquid because the powder quit melting in the washer and it would cake up on the clothes.

I agree the liquid does go faster but I've had problems with the powder lumping in the water since I use cold water. Only time I use hot water is for towels, washcloths and handkerchiefs. I can, however, use tablets or powder with the hot water washes.

the funny thing is that i use powder as detergent. persil brand with low suds is the preferred one. but i use liquid softener. i guess i hve not heard of powder softeners either. so i use some liquid and some powder.

Yes the liquid does seem to go faster. I use powder, but I have found the best stain remover is to put liquid detergent into a squirt bottle and just put onto a stain and it lasts longer and does as good if not better than buying a bottle of stain remover..
So, really I use both, just I use the liquid differently..:)

I like using liquid. Powder is just..too messy in my opinion. I don't like having to scoop it out of the box and what not, plus if the box falls over, you make a huge mess and everything else. I lik ebeing able to just open a bottle and pour out the detergent instead of having to scoop and what not.

I quit using the powder years and years ago. My dad said when they had some septic tank troubles they found that the powder detergent had done just like plaque in your heart valves, it had built up in the drain pipes and caused a lot of problems, and was hardened like cement. They have used liquid ever since. So have I, I have no more problems with the detergent not disolving or rinsing clean from my clothes. So it is even more economical to use. But that is just my preference. Lots of others still swear by the powder.

I have used liquid only for years. Thats because sometimes the powder doesn't all dissolve and you end up with residue on your clothes after they are washed. I hate that so I use liquid to avoid the problem. I have used both ALL and Cheer. My husband prefers me to use Cheer because it has enzymes in it that are supposed to help with stains.

I have always used the liquid. I used to use Tide all the time but have changed to a more inexpensive brand that does just as good a job.

I always use liquid, I buy them in bulk when they are on sale. I don't use the powder because it doesn't always disolve and you have white flakes on your clothes. I never buy detergent unless it is on sale but I always stick to liquid. It does go faster but it is better for me, lol.

We both use but we are more into powder, maybe it is more easy to use and you can estimate the amount to use.

I've used both before, but it does seem like the powder lasts longer for some reason. I guess I'd probably prefer to use the powder too since it doesn't seem to get used up as quickly, and it also isn't as messy. Whenever I use the liquid, it usually ends up dripping and getting really sticky.
