My aunt almost never misses a night of bingo,picking up her friends along the way and coffee.I say to myself "whats so great about that!Sitting in a chair for hours and listening to the man yell B10,O64!"Whip dee doo!!lol.Some make their own bingo dabber carrying bags.Wear t-shirts that say"i love bingo!"and become upset when someone hollars "BINGO!!!".I went once with her and became stressed waiting for the last number you have,to pop up and called and WHAMMY!!Someone else wins and maybe a possible fight break out between the older women.Its funny!Do you play this or its something you never played and hate.

I play online off and on. I've went with my Mom and Grandma before and it was fun. I'm not very lucky so I've never won but one of my uncle's goes and he wins alot of the time. I think it's just a personal preference as to whether you like it or not like shooting pool and karioke (sp?). AT PEACE WITHIN ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I've never played, so I don't know whether I would hate it or not, but it doesn't seem very appealing to me - it's too luck-based. I prefer activities in which I get to do something.

Actually, I love playing bingo. My dad got me hooked on it. Now my mom and I go. I read where some of you can't "keep up with 1-5 cards", lol, you would laugh at me then, cos I play 18 at a time lol. Once you win a big pot, then you are hooked and it is fun. My mom loves it more than me, but then she is almost 75 and it's her "night out". It does get stressful, when someone else bingo's ahead of you, especially when the pot is high and you are sitting there waiting on that last number. I've won $900 in one night before, THAT was exciting and I've won several hundred here and there. Most times, however, I just donate lol.

You don't care for Bingo so that is your choice and therefore you don't need to play the game. However many people enjoy Bingo, the socializing and that chance of picking up a little bit of extra cash. I volunteer with the elderly and I can assure you they have a lot of fun playing Bingo so let her enjoy it without trying to analyse why she or anyone else enjoys it. I expect you have a pastime or socialize in a way that she doesn't understand why you like it.

Oh my now you have my attention, I have played bingo for many years and have observed many different supersticious ways these people have ,like for god sake dont be a new person and just flop down in any seat, the old lady that has sat there for years thinks her name is all over that chair and its hers. yep if you new and you bingo look out theyy will swear you are a cheater who came to rob them of there few bucks you took. they sit in groups and dont you dare try to join in , wow isnt bingo fun.

i played bingo when i was a kid. LOL funny isnt it?? haha.. i guess i was influenced by my cousins who played bingo on their free time. i experienced too the excitement of waiting for my cards to win and felt bad too when i lost. ^__^;; i guess the word "free time" is the answer to this. old people have lots of free time and they enjoy a much simpler form of entertainment and winning something adds more fun to it. so bear with your aunt! be patient with her, she's just having fun! or you want her to go out and have a drink in a bar instead?? ^__^;;

I will pass on the bar one!Im happy for her to be having fun doing something that she likes instead of sitting in her home growing older.Life is too short for groping around and wasting time.She likes to win though and the next day its the topic.Ha,ha!:)

My mother in law used to play every week. I don't think it was so much for the money as it was the friendship. She knew everyone up there, and in between games they did a lot of talking and visiting. Its like any hobby, you get the equipment, the t-shirt, everything!

I've never played much bingo myself, except maybe when I was much younger. My mother and grandmother would tell me though that my great-grandmother was a real die-hard bingo fan, and would always win! I was told too, that without fail my great-grandmother would take her "lucky" charm...a cow chip!! LOL

I can relate to that!My aunt said she always brings her lucky troll.Its the ugliest thing i ever saw!The hair is bright green.Before she plays a game,she starts rolling this thing around in her hand&the hair stands up.She says this will be a lucky night!My aunts friend would like to make it dissapear,but she would miss it too much!lol:)

Bingo card - Not for me!
I could never get into bingo! The first and last time I played was when I first got married at 18 years old and to make my new mother in law happy I went with her. Bored? Unbelievable!!! Like you I was stressed to the limit waiting for those numbers to be called and watching those old ladies fighting. Not for me no way!

bingo is nice past time especially to old folks. and it's also a social affair and some study shows that games that deals with numbers is a very good therapy to enhance the brain.

I played bingo once. It's fun especially when you are playing together with your close friends. But if you will do this together with the oldies it sometimes become boring. LOL. But as for my mom, this is her way of releasing stress. She never miss it together with her old friends. Sometimes it annoys me but because I knew that she had fun doing it so I just let her be. Anyway I just want her to be happy.
