What would you do if you had a post about a friend and they read it here?

I'm always kinda leery of posting things about my friends/family. Although they aren't members of myLot, I worry that they may become members and read all my posts. If I'd posted something negative about them, I'd hate to have it read by them. Do you find yourself not posting something in fear that the person it is about will find out???

It's alright to share your personal experiences and emotions for as long as you don't mention names. Check and re-read your response countless times before posting it. You'll never know they may sign-up to be a member, worse, they may even add you up. That is what codes are for. Be vigilant though.

Phrases like "I knew about someone" or "A friend of mine told me" might help code the situation, but if it's something specific and a friend sees it, they'll probably know it was them.

Exactly. Those are useful tools in referring to someone safely. Have fun!

I've had that thought too. One of the reasons I don't try to get referals here is because sometimes I use myspace to vent. It's sort of my little world away from the real world. I haven't said anything truly horrible about anyone in my life. I pretty much believe that people just do the best they can, so I try not to be too harsh in my opinion of them, but sometimes people can just be aggravating and we just need to vent a little. If someone saw one of my rants about them, their feelings might be a little hurt, but I don't think it would do any long term damange to the relationship.

I haven't referred people that I know I might have a "juicy" story about for that reason too. But ya never know who might be a member that you don't realize...

Do you find yourself not posting something in fear that the person it is about will find out??? Oh boy do I! LOL, I think that is why I have never sent any of my friends an invite to join. I know it's terrible to talk about friends, but man sometimes I just need to vent or take a survey to see if I am wrong. Mylot is the perfect place for that. We have enough of a variety here that I know I will hear the truth, even if I don't like it. So I have posted many things about my friends as well about my family here and I would die if they knew just half of it.

I have posted some things also, but I always kinda worry. This past weekend gave me some GREAT material, but what if they decide to join and then read my past posts??? I might just chance it - it's good stuff :)

Well i am not posting anything regarding to my family and even about my friends. Nope i am not! As i know that Internet is not a private thing, isn't? And as for me, there's other more things that we can discuss about here in mylot rather than discussing something regardless on our family and friends. I don't really like talking about people's life, just love to talk about my interest in life! Have a nice day ahead from Kiko and happy posting and earning here!

Yeah, I don't usually get too personal in here either, but sometimes I'd like peoples input on a situation that has happened with me. It's hard to describe a situation sometimes without the fear that the other person involved might find out and not be too happy wit you...
