Intergenerational rudeness

About a month ago I witnessed an old man telling two boys to get off the grass, but the grass was not his. It is in an apartment complex where the yardwork is done by a professional landscaping company. They weren't even running around, they were just sitting and talking. Today I recalled instances in my own youth when an adult was rude to me for no reason. Yes, II was not a darling angel all the time, but when an adult I never saw before automatically assumed I was some kind of hoodlum, that never did sit well with me when it is unwarranted. Now that I'm an adult I confess there are times I can see how some can lose their patience with a younger generation. The favorite game seems to be sneaking up behind an older person and screaming in their ear. Less intense but just as irritating is loud talking (and sometimes screaming) with obscenities. Once one of another race accused me of being racist because I didn't hand over my change on demand, while she was loitering outside the store. I definitely knew when I was younger that not all adults were rude, for there were many other incidents that showed that most were basically decent human beings. I find it harder the other way around; I know that not every kid is going around entertaining itself terrorizing the community. I will have to keep in mind that it is not the entire generation that needs to be locked up behind bars with the other violent animals.
