Astronomy took a leap forward with a new invention that allows ground based telescopes to take better pictures than the Hubble telescope in space! Learn how it works here. http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk/~optics/Lucky_Web_Site/LI_Press_Releases_0807.htm I'm continuely amazed at the things our fellow man comes up with in the way of new ideas. How about you?

Too bad they didn't think of this before they spent all of that money on the Hubble, and lens changes would be so much easier too... It looks like a really good idea.

You are so right. Especially, considering there is no reason this technology could not have been invented a few decades ago. I haven't said it,yet, so I'll say it now. Wish I'd thought of it!

Hi Red, I went and had a look at that article, and I say Wow, as well. If they put this technique into space telescopes how good will they be then. I don't know if that is a possibility. Looking at the hubble pics and the new Lucky camera images is amazing, the detail that can be now seen in the parts of the sky that are blurry to hubble. Won't be long before we're spying on E.T.'s homeworld. :-)

Yes, it is a super neat idea. I would imagine looking at our own solar system, moon, and the sun might yield interesting results, too!
