Hunting Elk

Yesterday the Elk hunting started for me and I hawe been 2 days in the woods with frends and hunting Elk. We are hawing a good time and a bit of luck so far this is one of the Elks we hawe shotid so far and we are transportid it out of the woods to the road where we hawe ouer cars.

Wow! Matte that is one big elk. You are going to have a lot of meat to store in your freezer. How many are you allowed to kill? How much does he weigh and what do you do with the antlers?

Hello Feona.
This is not such a big one lol but it is a nice one, yes I will hawe some meat in the frezzer but we are 6 with me to share all meat. and the wiegt is around 350 pound and we are allowed to kill 4 grown and 6 calf and the antlers will the dogs hawe or put it on the wall in the hunting cabin.

Why would you want to kill a calf? Can you kill the females too?

Well, to tell the truth, I have never hunted ever up till now. I suppose it's really good since we could still do something that our ancestors used to do to feed themselves:)

I was completely shocked to see the size of that elk. I had no idea they were so big. I thought they were the size of a large deer. I learn something new everyday! What was that you had it on? I'm guessing you had to have something pretty large to haul it. Good luck with your elk hunting.:)

wow what a big elk,thats so amazing.i never saw one that big before,well at least you can have a few meals out of this.what kind of meals do you enjoy making with this.pattie

Wow, pretty large stuff. And yes I do understand hunting to keep populations in to reasonable levels, so they aren't everywhere messing with tons of stuff. (You should see how the dear were around here about a year or two ago).
