Remember the days when we wouldnt dare wear white after labor day?LOL How silly was that? Now we wear white as long as its still warm outside. I think that makes more sense dont you? We certainly have come a long way. Feel free to share.

Being a male the only white I wear in the summer is t-shirts and/or tank tops. I don't even wear sneakers. I wear leather open toe sandals. So white is not in my closets. HAHAHAHA!! Actually here in Minnesota we see a lot of white especially in the winter months. Maybe they are trying to blend into the snowbanks? HAHAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I couldn't remember what the whole white thing was about. My hubby says it has to do with summer and winter..

It's so you don't get your white shoes muddy. I don't remember the last time I got mud on my shoes period.

I don't wear all that much white to begin with. It's nearly impossible for me to keep a white shirt stain free for an entire day.

I wonder who made that dumb rule anyway--was it considered unlucky or something? I actually have never paid attention to rules like that anyway, and wore white no matter what time of the year...but then that's been the rebel in me....hehe

No it wasnt condsidered unlucky thats how the older people would think. To them it just wasnt right. And you know about they.LOL Till this day I dont know who THEY are.LOL Then the rebels came along and that was the end of that rule.heheheheh

I had this discussion with my BIL the other day. When he was dating his wife his wife's sister said something about his white sneakers after labor day. I told him Stacey and London (off TLCs What Not To Wear) say it's fine and he should tell her that. lol

And I thought the forbidden of wearing white had to do with the bride no longer being a virgin. How wrong I was! Both rules are silly, since in the first case, it used to result in the girl either not marrying because she was ashamed or sneaking off to a justice of the peace. The second is more ridiculous since Fall does not begin until September the 21st or 22nd, depending on the year and as I look at our 82 degree F on the Computer and I notice no snow falling on the ground, that it is still summer and we can walk around in whatever color or lack of color that we choose.

Yes, it has been nice to officially be 'correct' when wearing white after Labor Day. We can prolong the use of our clothes and shoes. My mom was careful about following that when my sister and I was growing up. I always wanted to wear my summer dresses during the winter. I couldn't understand why. Of course back then, all Labor Day meant to me was a sale! LOL
