Name one of your hobbies and tell me what you like about it. One of mine is mylot. I love coming here and asking both serious and seinfeldesque discussions. I love reading how people think and feel - about deeper issues and just life in general. I love doing this in real life as well. You?- tell me one of your pastimes and why you like it...

One of my hobbies, and I don't know how it became a hobby, is to find out who is discouraged, who is sick, who needs a smile, and then I send them a card or if I don't have their home address, I send them an e-mail. I know when I am down, nothing makes me feel better than someone just to say hi or give me a hug. I usually focus on people in my church, my family, and friends. If I can make someone's day brighter, it makes my own day brighter. Actually, my hobby is quite selfish because I get just as much out of it as they do.

I love to log in to Mylot. It is always a wonderful experience to participate in the discussions and read the views of others. Otherwise, I love reading books, novel etc., besides getting in touch with my friends off and on.

I love words too, they help us come closer and help us express our feelings for others. How are you? Have a great day! Deepak

You are so right about words bringing people closer together. Although some seem to communicate without words - like couples who have been together for years and know what the other wants, needs, or is thinking. Hey - I'm just fine - you?

One of my hobbies is cross stitching. I love being able to take a blank piece of fabric and watch a picture emerge. I love how relaxing it is and how all the different little squares add up to make a breathtaking picture. I love the variety of pictures to choose from and that you can suit it to fit a specific person if you want to. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

twoey I can see how cross stitching can be relaxing by your description. It actually makes me want to try it - when the baby is older! Or asleep. LOL.

Play games, but thats obvious Puzzle games and puzzles are pretty good too for hobbies I also collect several things, mostly science based I sketch drawings I paint on occasion I attempt pottery on occasion, but not before botany/flower arrangement. I do those on occasion as well. I write e-books/listings but I'm still tweaking the bulk of it (mylotters get a sneak peek though) I create games on PC I read, and that can be anything, from novels to informationals to the occasional comic or manga I practice swordplay And yep, Mylot is also a hobby of mine.

amanda - I bet Ariel appreciates the attention! I got married in Las Vegas and didn't like it though. Too much going on - lights, noises, people. I can see it perfectly though for a young man in one of my classes - he admits to ADHD and he is from there and missed it. There is always somthing happening - even roller coasters on some of the hotels!

Other than mylotting and listening to music gardening is one of my favorite hobbies. In the early morning I like to do some weeding and watering in my little veg garden. I like to watch the newly grown plants. It’s really a great pleasure to see the process of development from a flower into a fruit.

I have so many hobbies that I love to do, it's hard to pick one. But I'll say my favorite is making jewelry. It's a way to express my creativity which is really important to me. Because of the type of jewelry I make, chain maille, it tends to be a little repetitive in spots and if I'm stressed repetitive tasks will calm me down. It's something I don't have to think about, just do. The only down side to it is, I get a little obsessed with a new creation and will work until it's finished. Even if that means working for 15 or 16 hours straight. Usually by the time I get done my hands are so sore and swollen, sometimes scratched up from my tools slipping and poking myself. I bleed for my hobby.. often.. LOL!

If you sell your jewelery (except if you sell to me of course!) I hope you attach a high price tag to match the hours you've put in - sweat and blood - but hopefully not tears!

Knitting. To me, knitting is relaxing and can be done almost anywhere. When I am done I have something to show for it, a scarf, a hat or a blanket. I often give these as gifts.

Great hobby - and the best gift is one created by someone else!
