I just finished watching this movie, and I have been crying ever since. This is one of the best, and saddest, movies that I have seen in quite a while. I would give this movie five stars, and add it to the very short list of Tom Cruise films that I enjoy. I might just end up owning this one...

i would have to say this was a really good movie i liked all of the action but i felt that they made the samurai a little to week in the movie but i would have to think that there were no ninja in this movie so there was definatly no assasinations but as far as owning this you really should but i can't i can only stand to watch a movie for so many times before i hate it no matter how good it was

I'm a little confused...Was I the only one that saw ninjas in this movie? And who said anything about assassinations? There was one attempted assassination, that is where I at least thought I saw ninjas...

I watch the Last Samurai like, 3 years ago... it is a good movie with outstanding cinematography... but it is historically inaccurate... but that can be understood since most movies are done to suit the interest of the viewers... i like the fact that Tom Cruise took time to study how to use a samurai because he was great during the fight scenes...

I was not overwhelmed with any sort of sadness, but after a second watch I did enjoy the film. The first time I saw it was at theatres and it bored me a bit, but then after watching it again I was entertained and I like the scene where they first capture Cruise.

Hello Schala, The Last Samurai is a good movie I have watch it many times over. I like the movies story where it shows two different cultures and tradition and how one character's eyes was opened and adapted both. I actually own one dvd copy already. :-)
