Hi friends, A survey inspects whether pre-bedtime PC use affects sleep pattern or not and this is the result:- People who spend more pre-bedtime hours using the internet or watching television are more likely to report that they don't get enough sleep, even though they sleep almost as long as people who spend fewer pre-bedtime hours in front of a computer or television screen. The findings suggest that while heavy computer and television use before bedtime has a small effect on sleep duration, it may have a more significant effect on the sleep quality and sleep demand. What is your say? Do you agree with this? Let share your thoughts here ...

Interesting. I notice that if I watch too much DVDs on my computer before bed time, my sleep quality would be disturbed, like I would dream of some weird stuff and the next day I would still be very tired. Now I tend to give my brain a break from the computer half an hour before sleep, so that I wouldn't have to concentrate too much before bedtime. I could relax myself with a fun book and go to have a sound sleep *smiles*.

Hello wondericequeen, Ah, I realize that too! Whenever I watch a good movie, I will start to have a weird dream and it will definitely disturbed my sleep and I always feel that I don't get enough sleep when I wake up the next morning. As you know, I am a night person actually. I can just wide awake for two consecutive days and become a zombie on the third day. As long as I get a good sleep after that, I will be back as a normal human being *laughs*

Wow, sleep is really important to me and I can't go without sleeping! But I am a night person too! I could stay up at night if I want to to work on stuff and indeed my brain works better at night!

Hello wondericequeen, Seems that we have the similarities *laughs* I love the night as it is quiet and peaceful. I can concentrate more whenever I need to do something important. I normally spend my day time at work and always in a hurry. I really feel tired when I come home but still have to do all the house chores and take care of the baby. Whenever I get to do something that I love to at night, it can really stop me from thinking of falling asleep *laughs* I still feel that I only have 23 hours a day!

Hello ayu_asks, You will be surprised that most of us here are night persons. As for me, night is the only time that I am free to do whatever I want. My husband is away right now and so, I have the full freedom to do anything at night. Not enough sleep? That is still ok for me...as long as I am happy *smiles*

I think this is a great topic coveing us all who wake up late till night just for surfing the net. Reasons may be different but one is surely delaying sleep and it does has effect on the sleep demand. I have personally experienced this that inspite of a proper time for sleep i do feel that my body is demanding more. I would from now on try to wake up eary rather than staying awake late night.

Hello limcyjain, As a working mom, I don't have much time to spend. I am pretty busy at work and spend most time at home with my family and doing my house chores. The only time I have for myself is after 10 at night. That is when I will diligently responding to my friends here and surfing the net. As my husband is far away right now, I use this time too, to chat with him online. I am always busy till I close my eyes to sleep *laughs* It is lucky that I am a night person. Sometimes I do feel tired whenever I wake up the next morning due to insufficient sleep...

Hi gr8life.First of all thanks for the topic you posted from which i came to know about the survey. Well i don't think that it has some severe effects on sleep quality.I myself work at night on my pc or watch tv late night but i don't find any problem oreffect on my sleepin habits.Although i sleep a lot but that is normal for me.In fact i get a good sleep after finishing my work. May be you are right that it has some effects over our sleep because working with pcs & watching tv has a great impact over our minds,it's a really tiring one.so not all but some can feel the effects.

Hello ETHANE, Thank you for your response and sharing your thoughts on this topic. I think as long as we get enough sleep, that is more than enough. I am a night person myself. Sometimes I spend most of my time online at night and it is hard to sleep when you are doing what you love to do *smiles*
