What ever happen to comic books being sold at the newstands in the stores and at local newstands? I notice that comic books are only sold at comic book stores and at Barnes and Noble.

thanks to the politics of the world, many politicians have become bigger cartoons than comic book characters. apple.

You have a point, but deep down, people still need their comic books (or graphic novels as of recent), in order to take their minds away from reality.

Well he won the discussion. 10/10. Couldn't have said it better myself. A lot of those people act like caricatures and they expect us to take them seriously? Peh. Maybe some should just be given a comic book deal if they stopped doing their jobs so poorly.

In my area There are a couple of comic shops to choose from, which is really nice. There is also a store called Newbury Comics. THey primarily sell mmusic and Dvds and such, but they also sell comics. Really they are kinda a pop culture store. But you are right. I rarely see comics at newstands anymore. Perhaps it's just as well, they might get more beat up at a new stand.

Yes, exactly, places that just some comic books and/or comic book related items are hard to find. Again, you have to look in a phone book, go online, or hear it from a friend. Where I live, we have at least one comic book store or a mega store in each city. There is Frank & Sons Collectibles on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Industry, JPM's Comics in Glendora, Comic Celler in Monrovia, Funny Comics in Pomona...

My local shop is called Comiocazi. They do comics and collectables (nothing sport realted though....and many people come there looking for it). It's also my local hangout :-) They do some fun community activites which are really fun. I realize I'm very lucky to have this.

woah! you have a great point here dude! even i feel the same. There were the days of the 1990's when we used to get these comics almost everywhere in the markets. And there was a sorta craze developed amongst us youngsters to keep collecting these comics...because these were easily accessible and we loved reading them too :) Nowadays, it's a Professional World...and a commercial one too...everything seems to have been commercialised mainly because it helps them earn more n more profit. Hope we get back those days of the past! :)

Exactly, and now, we do not. What happened? I live in Los Angeles County, CA and you would think that we would be the comic book/graphic novel captial of the world with the way comic books are sold down here, but we are not. You have to go online or look in a phone book in order to find any comic books. Sometimes, your friends recommend places to you. It's ridiculous! I remember when comics used to be sold in stores, and they are not anymore.

Yes I remember when they were sold everywhere. Newstands, supermarkets, even a few pharmacies. Now things have just shifted entirely. Its usually much worse mind garbage out there being sold in these areas instead. Magazines about celebs and politicans that are basically pretty flapping heads that do nothing for no one. I'd definitely want the comics back instead of what we currently have, but the egomaniacs couldn't deal with it. They'd throw fits. Self-important morons. Sorry Rogue. I ranted. But it comes with the territory. Have a good week mate, I rarely get to see you here.

This is why we are here, ranting it fine. I hate those tabloid magazines as well, that is precisely why I read comic books. Comic books are a blend of some realism mixed with some fantasy.

i grew up as an earnest reader of comic books...infact i learned to read primarily because of comic books.as you truly stated, comic books are now fast disappearing from the news stands...kids and obviously the grownups are more interested in television and online gaming....so the habit of reading as an entertainment is slowly fading away....the first sign of it can be the missing news stads which were once filled with comic books....

I completely agree with you.
