Do you keep a bar stool in your home? And, is it safe for your kids?

When I was a little kid we had a snack bar with four really high bar stool style chairs. It's all we knew and even though it was perilous getting up and down off those things, nobody complained. Actually, it was kind of fun, cause most of our friends only had the boring dining room tables. Anyway, about six months ago, my spouse bought a really tall chair from the flea market and brought it home. (It looks just like a regular chair, except the legs are much longer than usual). And, for awhile, everyone seemed happy with it and my little kid never went near it once. Then one night she decided to climb up on it, and promptly fell off. She wasn't hurt, but it was very upsetting for both of us. Actually, I think that I was more upset than she was. Needless to say, the bar stool went into the trash the same day. And, I was wondering, does anyone else with really young kids have bar stool style chairs? And, if so, how do you keep your children from climbing up on them and getting hurt? Would love to know. Even though I don't plan on getting anymore soon, it would be nice for times when we are visiting friends.
