A dictionary is one which gives the definitions of all de words..meanwhile the thesaurus gives the antonyms and synonyms..a writer essentially needs a thesaurus while dictionary is optional..i use both though occationaly..which one do u use the most??

we need simply meanings of strange or new words in our native language. So we use dictionary for thispurpose. thesaurus serves to see the word substituting the word in question. The deep studiers use the thesaurus as well. But as concerned my self. Dictionary is enough for me to manage to write or understand the English.

I often use the dictionary for word meaning. But, when I want to use another word for the word I use thesaurus. Both are useful tools in writing I even use it to check on the spelling of words I am going to use if I am not sure.
