I think that it is. I have given my dogs their booster shots every year for the past three years without taking them to the vet. I buy them at the local farm store and do it right there at home it sure is a lot cheaper. Do you give your dog their own booster shots?

I think booster shot is given only once and then you can give a vaccination every year. The best thing is visit a vet and ask it.

I will check on it but the vet here told me every year.

We don't but I know people who do. At our local store you can only buy the vaccines in multiple quantities, so with only one dog they expire before we can use them, so it's not cost-effective. But I do know folks with multiple pets who do that, and the rescue group I used to work with did all their own shots. It's still a good idea to take a pet to the pet periodically for a checkup, especially as they get older, but no reason to pay the vet for the shots too!

I take them when something is wrong, and usually once every couple of years or so if there is nothing to concern me.
