Do you let your kids read combic books? When I was a kid we loved comic books, but not primarily the superhero kind that seem to have taken over now, although we did love Superman. Comics were for girls as well as boys and we traded them back and forth. Adolescents and grownups had no interest in them then. Now no one seems to know what I'm talking about when I mention Nancy and Sluggo's creepy friend Oona Goosepimple, or Witch Hazel's niece litte Itch. We loved Spooky, Casper, Little Dot, Hotstuff, and all the rest. These comic books were neither violent nor full of mature content, and they were wonderful fun. I learned to read because I wanted to know what was going on in those wonderful pictures. Thank God my mother didn't know comics were supposed to be bad for children!

Thank goodness that my Mother knew that comics were
good for children.! So did my Father. That is why I
became the best reader in my entire school, a child with the most vivid imagination, and a future comic book creator.I too grew up with Nancy and Sluggo,Dot Casper, and Hot Stuff and all the others not forgetting my favorite, Little Lotta she became my
ultimate girlfriend and I still love her very much.
As an adult I am truly sorry that many of these wonderful comics are no longer produced, giving way to
senseless computerised games that are extremely bad for both children and adults alike.Oh I forgot to mention that ever since age 7 I was and still am Clark Kent. No,I can't fly, and bullets dont bounce off my body, but you've got admit that Clark is the perfect example of a powerful gentleman.

I didnt read comics as a kid,but my brother did. My son loved comics as a child and still reads certain ones as an adult. He has rubbermaid totes full of comics. I'm surte there are thousands of them. I think its okay for kids to read comics the important thing is that they are reading.
