Hello luckywolf, I think the best way to become better playing basketball is constant and regular practice. If you need to strengthen your upper body have daily sets of weight training for your upper body at gym, with an instructor would be better. Regular push-up, bench press, butterfly press those are some of the training you can do regularly to strengthen your upperbody's muscles. Hope I helped. :-)

If your doing it alone at home better do the regular pushup and light free weight (dumbells) lifting. 2-3 sets of 10-12 reps each time with few seconds breaks between each set. You need to do some stretching first before you do this exercises.
You'll get far better results if you go to the gym, they have intructors there which offers their services for free.

Luckywolf, if you are smoking right now, stop. Add swimming to your regimen to improve your upper body and keep on practicing basketball, of course.

thanks,i am no smoking, and i really agree with you to swim more, last week i went to swim with my friend,i can hardly swim a round in the pool,i will spend more time with the water
