I was very concerned about the recent recall of chinese toys. This has intensified my fears for chinese products generally. If toys have been proven to be hazardous to children, how safe are chinese drugs, drinks, textiles, electrical appliances? Are we safe with chinese products any more?

This reminds me of the olden days when a product is made from japan but look at japan know, they are doing it their own way. Yes, we are all still safe, we just become paranoid when it was on the news, this has been happening since the 80's and because of the information traffic all of a sudden , media made most of us to worry "too much". Safety still is our personal responsibility, the toys can still be played by our kids with supposed supervision. Most parents uses toys to make their children busy so they can do their own thing, no one said child rearing could be that easy.It is still our responibility to choose which toy our children needs, to play safe to to purchase educational toys for their development.Just looking at a different perspective, my friends.

I wonder too. In our zeal to get things cheaper and cheaper we may have discovered that there is a limit. When we have retailers demanding from companies cheap prices we have to realize that to get those cheap things corners may be cut. I did find it interesting that NOW the Chinese manufacturers have decided to increase inspection of some of these products. But, as a result, the costs of those goods will go up. We need to notify the sellers of these products in this country that we will not tolerate this.
