How do you keep your lipstick from smearing all over your face?

You'd think that keeping lipstick in place would be a simple thing. But, it's been so long since I've worn it on a regular basis, so I think I'm out of practice. My current lipstick smears terribly and ends up looking weird. I'm not sure if it's the brand of lipstick that I'm using or something else. Maybe my skin is too oily. How do you set your lipstick to keep it from smearing on your face or wiping off onto a cup? Are there specific brands of lipstick that are better about staying put, once you apply them?

I've been using Cover Girl Outlast and Revlon Colorstay. Both will last for about 6 hours without reapplying it. It doesn't come off unless you eat something greasy, then you have to reapply but I've had very good luck with it. When I'm playing a gig with my band I don't have much time to fuss over my makeup, so the less I have to do the better. I can usually get thru set up, the gig, then teardown without ever doing a touchup on my lips, that's about 6-7 hours. As long as you don't put it on too thick it'll stay put.

There is a great producet called my lips are sealed, its awesome, its hard to find though, try on line. Also the non smearing and wearing outlast brands dont wear well I find, they are gummy on the inside on the lip and feel groos.
