Do you recommend a list of previous jobs with responsibilited listed or do you recommend a more "freehand" approach, listing Objective/Applicable Experience and Apllicable Skils. Do you have a preferred resume style?

I prefer a resume that has the objective, education, work history including a paragraph of duties, and references available upon request. It should be no longer than 1 1/2 pages. I used to work as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and found this format works the best with potential employers.

That's exactly how we learned it in my business class.

I think i prefer the first one, list of previous jobs with responsibilities. I suppose you can include the freehand one in the first one too maybe?!?! I need to find out how they do it here in the USA and what is more appropriate.

I prefer a non formal one that says what I am capable of doing and what I have achieved in the past - I look for sincerity in the words.

i think one important thing is to have a good objective. For a few weeks, I have been sending out resumes without one. Tuesday, I changed to :to continue using my customer service skills in a new environment. I got a call Tuesday afternoon and an interview Wednesday, which i blew. Hey, it was my first job interview in years.
