World peace is an ideal of freedom, peace and happiness among and within all nations. It is professed ambition of many past and present world leaders. Is it really possible for us to have world peace? I know for sure that we need world peace! A world without war can be achieved if all the nations have respect for each others difference and we will build a just peace based on social justice, human and democratic rights and economic equality. Do you agree that we need world peace? How can we achieve world peace in your opinion?

Yes, world peace is possible. The whole world has never been at peace, but small areas of the world have been at peace for short periods of time. The thing to do is to look at those places and times and see what they have in common. What they have in common is strong peaceful nations ready to fight but desirous of peace.
The key to peace is for the responsible peaceful people of the world to be skilled and prepared in regards to war. When any nation does this, be responsibly ready to defend itself, other nations leave it alone. The best example of this in modern times is Switzerland.
Since there are always potential tryants, despots, genocidal maniacs, religious zealots, and other kinds of assorted murderous national leaders in the world, keeping one's nation ready to put them in their place is the only road to peace. This works whenever it is tried.

I don't think we can! As a matter of fact, I think it could be downright dangerous! How could I believe that? Because it would take a world body to oversee the world peace, and when you put that much power in people's hands, guess what? They end doing worse than whatever was before them! Of course we could have some sort of enforced world peace.. but still, in that case the world body would be dictators..
