Just Not Interested in the New Season

I had never watched American Idol until last season when Jordin won. I didn't even intend to watch it then, but I got hooked when I was with my mother and she was watching, and I enjoyed it a lot, but I don't feel interested in watching the new season at all. Maybe I'll change my mind when it's actually here? I just wondered how everyone else feels about this.

I liked American Idol from the start and will be watching it again in the new season as well as The Next Top Model. I wasn't as interested in the past season however I will continue to watch it when it comes on again.

I never did watch America's Top Model, but I am thrilled that my very favorite show, Dancing with the Stars, has returned! Thanks for responding!

The full episodes are on www.abc.com so you can catch up on what you missed. I wish that Boston Legal was on abc.com but it's not... and my tape cut off early Tuesday night.

Oh yes me too! I watched it last night then got a phone call which lasted the entire program so I couldn't get to really see it like I'd have liked to. I love the idea of Marie Osmond and Jane Seymore are on this year! Makes me wonder who'll win but regardless I'm watching it no doubt this season. It's going to be really interesting.

I've never watched the auditions. I got interested last time right when they had the groups of boys and girls singing on consecutive nights, right at Mardi Gras time, which is actually what had me in a hotel room with my mother which is what led to me being interested in the show last time. Confined spaces and all that... Thanks for responding

Well I guess I am in the minority here. I will not be watching American Idol. I watched the seasons where Fantasia won and where Carrie Underwood won. I really enjoyed those two seasons. I tried watching it this past season but got really turned off when Sanjaya kept making every week and others were being kicked off that were clearly better than Sanjaya. It seems like it is more of a popularity contest than it is a singing contest. So NO I will not be watching the new season. I will find something better to watch.

That was annoying, but in a way it's like that on all of the shows. Like the way we know that Wayne Newton will stay on Dancing with the Stars far too long while other, more talented people go home. I did really hate the "Vote for the Worst" site online, particularly since they helped Sanjaya stay on so long. I think that kind of thing is mean-spirited. If it's that there are true fans out there voting because they like the person (regardless of talent or lack thereof), that's one thing. When it's organized like that, I don't like it at all.

yeah, maybe you'll change your mind when the new season start. :) I'm always looking forward to watch american idol, especially the auditions. They're really entertaining and I also enjoy watching the competition, some of them are really good singers!

I do have a thing for competitions. I love Dancing with the Stars and have watched it faithfully since the first season. I might change my mind on AI. Thanks for responding!

I've watched AI since Season One, and I was pretty much hooked until this last season. This last season just didn't compare in my opinion, to many of the previous ones. I will definitely watch the new season and hope I can get back to finding it entertaining again.

I will be watching American Idol this season as I have every other season. The past season wasn't one of my favorites, but I think that it was just that the talent wasn't what it had been in the past.
