Another update on Mamakat0

Hey everyone. I just heard from our friend Mamakat0. She is doing a little better. She went to her doctor appointment, and it was a little disappointing for her. The doc told her that the eyesight she has now is all that she will ever get back. The damage that has been done is permanent, and surgery won't help at all. He also told her that she is one very lucky person, because it could have been a lot worse. She told me to tell all of you hello, and that she is ok....just very very bored. LOL Mamakat, if you're reading this, know that you are very much loved and cared about by not only me but by many other people here. Thanks to all of you for giving her the support and love she needs. HUGS!

Mamakat! Pro wishes you a speedy recovery and hopes that somehow the vision may come back a bit better than the docs say. (I always have it in the back of my head that sometimes the body can recover better than the doctors say. In my case, my hearing).
Take your time recovering, but know that people here wanna see ya!

I do see the waves. and thank you. my neighbors got mad at me because i had them turn their radio down last night. For some reason just normal loud noises bother me now. Hubby said in a teasing way that I was falling apart. Thank you for the well wishes.

Hi Katlady2,
Thanks for this update. I'm very sorry to hear the news about her eyesight, as this must be so hard for her, and such a big adjustment. On the other hand, I'm thankful that things weren't a lot worse, and that she's still with all of us, including of course, her family.

Not even laser surgery? I hear that's wonderful. I have a friend who had blot clots in the retinas of her eyes, and she was literally going blind because of it...With the laser surgery her eyesight came back one hundred percent
It must be very frustrating to go from an active person to non active, but time is the healer...Mama kat0 comes across as having the fighting spirit and I'm sure she is going to do all she can to strengthen herself better--I'm still sending my prayers and hugs to her.

Yes, she is a very strong person, that is for sure. I have the feeling that the optic nerves were too badly damaged for any kind of surgery to do any good. But I don't know for sure, if that's exactly what the problem is. I'm keeping her in my prayers as well. Thanks so much hon.

No not even laser surgery. I have calcium on the brain and he told me that I have to have that taken care of . And when you are put on so much restriction you want to retaliate. Sitting here wanting to have a big bowl of ice cream. :):) but going to go and get a piece of fruit.

well thanks for the update i am so glad you kept us posted,im sad to hear about the outcome,but she sounds like a very strong lady and its great she is here today because it could of been alot worse,give her my blessing and hope she has a speedy recovery,may god bless her always,and keep her head up high and smile.pattie

I'm sorry to hear that her sight loss will be permanent, but am grateful to hear that her health is otherwise okay.
