what exactly is internet 2.0?

i hear so much about this, but i really don't understand. To my understanding its not like there is going to be another internet, right?

Hi,
I gather you're actually referring to web 2.0 which basically is a broad term for all the social networking sites etc. Web 2.0 is where the internet has become much more interactive - bogs, squidoo, digg, stumble etc etc - It's easier for people to make themselves known online by creating their own interactive sites and to share what they like, don't like etc with others.
