and the nurse practioner suggested he use Vicks Vapor Rub on his toe nail fungus. He has been trying it and he thinks they are looking better. Anyone else ever tried this home remedy?

I've never had nail fungus, but I use carmex on papercuts/hangnails all the time!

Oh what a great idea. I use carmex on my cold sores. I never thought about hang nails. I'm going to give it a try.

Yes! I dropped a fifty pound weight on my foot about 15 years ago and the big toe was never the same. A white fungus appeared and I tried all kinds of things to no avail. In my local paper was a "Farmer's Pharmacy" column every week and some said to try the Vick's Vapor rub on foot fungus. I started putting in on every morning and evening and it disappeared within 6 weeks, never to return. I highly recommend it!

Vicks Vapor Rub is some potent stuff. The medicine has the vapor side but there is also the contact side where the medicine absorbs into the skin. The medicine itself has many cleansing properties, the menthol and camethol are whats causing most of it. It also burns like heck on sensitive parts of the skin and body so do be careful.
