Do you watch classic TV shows in the morning?

So, do you ever watch old TV shows in the morning time, when nothing else is on? What are some of your favorites? Do you like those classic shows better now than you did when they were first on television? Who are your favorite classic TV actors? Just recently, one of our local ABC affiliate stations started running classic episodes of Magnum P.I. and Kojak in the morning times. And, if you can get past the really cheesy dialog and bad hair styles (although Kojak didn't actually have a hair style), then the shows are pretty good. Personally, I like Kojak. He was the godfather of cool back in the day, way before Vin Diesel made it popular to shave your head and act tough. The mysteries are often flimsy and transparent, but you always know he's going to get the bad guy. I like to listen to the shows as I'm puttering around getting things cleaned up and doing some cooking for lunch. At nine AM, it's way too early for soap operas and way too late for the AM news shows, like Good Morning America. And, since we don't have cable I'm kind of limited on viewing options. So, it's nice to have something to watch. Not sure why I didn't watch the shows before when we had cable. They were always running those classic shows. Just guess there's nothing better to watch. This fall they'll be moving Rachel Ray to ten AM and then I can get my housewife shows back and ditch the classic TV shows. Till then, it's not such a bad way to spend a morning.

I’m working in the morning- so no TV for me. I see the shows (classic) on during the day on cable. I have to say I never watch them- If I have nothing to watch- I’ll put the TV on Lifetime and watch a movie. Older shows like that bother me- They bore me and I lose my interest- When all else fails I’ll put on music station and watch videos. Thank goodness for Rachel Ray!

Oh I love watching old shows! I love them all lol. My absolute fave though has to be All in the Family, Archie is classic :) With Sanford and Son a close second. Barney Miller, I Love Lucy, The Jeffersons, Three's Company, even the "newer" ones like Roseanne-love them all. We have satellite, and I like AMC channel also, I love the old time movies. But I saw one the other night, it was so awful, I couldn't turn it off lol. It was 4 am... oh I can't think of the name-Pussycat Pussycat something something, it was some B or D movie with really bad acting lol. Then I was so pissed at myself for staying up and watching it....they're great though.

Usually if my TV is on in the mornings, it means my son is up. So we watch Playhouse Disney, or PBS, or Nick Jr. Every once in a while I will watch TV Land in the afternoons when there's nothing else on and I feel like watching TV. I don't watch soaps or anything usually. But then again, I don't usually watch TV when I'm by myself. We use it as background noise when Elliott is up playing. He will watch for a few minutes and then take off to do something else. As soon as I put him down for a nap, or put lunch on the table, the TV in the family room goes off, and usually doesn't come back on until my husband turns it on. And I don't know when the last time was that I watched tv in my bedroom. We have the TV in my son's room set up to only get Disney, Nick, PBS, the weather channel, and Speed. lol

When they were still being aired in our country via regular TV shows, I used to always follow the bald headed kojak around town. I was also a keen student of Hawaii 5-O, and that blonde jack of all things Mcgyver. Lately however, with the setting up of a cable company in town, my free morning time is now spend more in watching espn sports, star sports and other sports channel.

I'm watching a morning show combined with news and entertainment every morning especially when I was not able to watch news at night due to my busy schedule. It help me be updated with what is happening in my community and traffic to avoid when going to my office. It also keep me updated on what is new in fashion and showbiz industry. Sometime I also learn new dishes from that show and what to do to have an extra income.

I used to watch Golden Girls all the time in the mornings when I was getting ready to go somewhere, or just eating breakfast. I like to watch something funny, to get me off to a good start for the day.

Oh, I won't watch the classic TV shows in the morning because I don't have time. I prefer to sleep later but most of the time I have to wake up early to bring my son to the kindergarten. I don't have much more time for TV.
