Does your baby ever wake up laughing?

The funniest thing happened awhile ago. My 3 1/2 year old daughter was taking an early nap when she suddenly started giggling. I was sitting in the room at the time and thought she was awake. But, when I looked over, I could see that she was still asleep. And, she had a big grin on her face as if she were very happy and laughing sounds were coming out of her mouth.
It was so cute, that I can't stop smiling. I just assumed that babies and little kids only woke up crying, not laughing. Who knew! Has that ever happened to your baby or little kid? Has your little kid ever woke up laughing? What do you think would cause that?

My son does that sometimes, too. When we went to Missouri this summer, it was just my son and me. Of course he slept a lot of the time, since we were in the car for 18 hours. Anyway, one time, he was sleeping, and I heard him laugh and say "Woodie, stop tickin (tickling) Bubba Elliott!" I looked in the mirror and he was asleep and rubbing his cheek and shaking his foot. So I guess in his dream, our dog was either licking his face or foot. It was really cute the way he was saying it, though. :)

My second one does that a lot in his sleep....almost every other day I hear him laughing in his sleep. My older son never did that (or maybe I was too busy to notice).
It's very sweet and everytime I see him laughing in his sleep, I forget all my worries and all my trials of being a full time mom:)

How sweet! It would have been a delightful experience. Even tiny babies [less than one year old] smile in their sleep and in our house our elders used to give a very charming explanation for it. I don't know whether people in foreign countries or the young, educated would accept it. Nevertheless,I found it an extremely sweet explanation--do you know what they used to say?''God is waving a beautiful lotus right before the baby's eyes.''I loved to think of it that way.

When my child was still a baby, the same thing happened to him giggling in his dream. My wife and I were so happy to hear and see him giggle. It was very interesting to find such a small baby to have a dream and giggle in his dream. So I can understand what you are talking about. beauty queen as always.
