scam work at home jobs

I have been trying to find a work at home job, so that i can stay home and take care of my child, and it has been really rough, because most of the work at home jobs you can find on the internet are scams. It is really hard to figure out which ones are the scams and which ones are legitimate until you actually try them, and i dont have the extra money to be trying them out one after the other, i do have a limit to my expenses. Dont these people understand that not everyone looking for a work at home job has the extra money in order to pay for two and three hundred dollar kits that they want you to buy, when you dont even know if the business is going to work out for you?
