Do doctors feel pain??

I dont know if anyone have experienced this, but going to the hospital the other day for a biopsy was the worse pain I've ever felt in my life!! As you do u rely on the nurses doctors as they are suppose to know what they were doing. Well my grief is this, the doctor told me about how the procedure was going to go down to what she felt with her professional opinion of the type of pain that i would feel, which she told me that when she putting the drug in to numb my skin would only feel like a bee sting and that i would not feel nothing else, I can tell you she fegot to mention that the bee sting she described it to be would be ten times worse and that the pain that i felt during the operation was so painful. I mean with these doctors and donmt get me wrong they do do wonderful jobs and some are good at it, but unless yo are going thru the operation yaself how is it possible that they can tell you that u only feel a sting , which i felt ever thing they done, and when i am telling the doctor this was just told oh u are just feeling the pressure!!! now please someone help me out here, its my body my skin their percing, my kidney they going down to take tissue from., I know what pain i was feeling as i felt it!! Why do some doctors claim to know what pain u are going through??? Not every one is the same and what they studied im sure they did not offer them selves on the table to get prodded and digged at and cut open to experince any pain to come tell me that all i be feeling was a bee sting or pressure. i am just woundering has anybody ever had the same experience where they been in hospital and having the doctor tell u what u would feel to be totally different and when u telling them u feeling it look at u as if u should take there word for it and that u are not actually feeling the pain that u are feeling? thank you.

I heard biopsy really is a painful procedure. Maybe the medical staff just want to reassure you so you won't feel nervous about the procedure and just back out cause I guess you really need it. And maybe they just forgot to tell you how big the bee would be.. (wink*)!

Unfortunately some doctors seem to think they know how every patient is feeling. When they would give me the 'bee sting' comment and then poke me, I'd say 'OW! How big of a bee are you USING??!!' If I felt more than pressure, they sure knew it! You aren't the only one this has happened to. Sad to say... If you have to do anything like that again, tell the doc ahead of time about this experience. Maybe they can do more for the pain. Don't let them tell you it's all in your head.
