Well , i think they r bcoz of vulnerability of terrists. They may b want to keep info of terrists n so they r doing it..

Well it is a fact that some countries in Europe and Asia have done that. I won't name countries, because I don't want to offend mylotters FROM those countries. I don't believe the U.S., Canada, or 'seemingly' upfront countries do that, but that is only my opinion. And before someone jumps down my throat for saying 'upfront', I mean that promote freedom, have fair trade, and all that jazz.
