My 9.5 month old LOVES my wallet. If she is upset...she will calm down if she can play with it. I don't know what it is..maybe because it is soft & she is teething. My 5 year old used to have this little toy frog that she chewed on for hours. We still have it & I put it away because she loved it so much.

My daughter is 15 months & she loves EVERYTHING, she'll play with my purse/wallet or car keys when we do the shopping. She also likes a ragdoll that her Great Nanna got for her from a garage sale!
When she was younger she LOVED this Pooh toy that sang to her, whenever she pressed a certain part of his body - a song about his nose, ears, hands, feet, tummy etc.
At the moment she is in to my cupboards a lot, pulling out mostly the tuppaware/plastic things & playing with them but i have noticed she doesn't always play as much as she does THROW things!
When we're at my parent's place, her favourite toy is a squeeky plastic Xmas stocking. It's a dog toy that my Mum's dog has but never uses. It squeezes easily & makes a noise if it's thrown so she's happy!

Children can always have their favorite toy or stuff to play with. My son loves to play with car toys of different kinds. Every year he asked to get him cars till he was thirteen. Now the car toys he likes are those that can be installed by himself like racing car toys.

The one thing I remember is my now 38 year old daughter had a stuffed Eyore that for some reason we called donkeyote! lol....she wouldn't part with that thing even when he was falling apart.
