Amount of responses

well i say so far the responses i'm getting are quite good..say i'm getting 10 + responses which i'm happy enough because the last discussions i had wont get the same number of responses..now, i have one discussion on the go who has 50 responses already..i'm just so amazed with other users who managed to get a hundred and more responses on their discussion..there are times i feel bad about not getting many responses most specially if i got none response at all..i feel like i'm not a good writer my work does not interest many others to respond..i fell ineffective..

I don't have any expectations when it comes to responses to my discussions. I have only started one and I think I only got like one response. I am new though and haven't built up friends and such. I spend most of my time responding rather than starting my own discussions.

If I get anything over or close to 10 I am happy as I often do not get as many as 10 responses...Yes, I wish I could get more but for some reason I never have...Until my most recent discussion which has 32 responses within about four days. I was shocked and very happy at the same time! I do agree that thereis A LOT less activity here and it saddens me...I do not want to leave I just hope that things turn around here. I am hanging onto my loyalty and the few friends that are still here with me. Happy Continuing Posting Grandpa! :)

I do wish I could get more responses. I don't even get 10 on most of my posts. I don't understand what I am doing wrong, or maybe my discussions just aren't all that interesting lol! If you have any advice I would certainly welcome it. I think summer is just ending, there is still a lot of outside stuff that needs to be done, school is just starting and all that. Wait for the cooler months I think you will see a big change. At least that is what I am hoping!

I have a sense and know how you're feeling....It amazes me that I can post a "serious" discussion, one that might make people think a bit, and hardly get all that many responses..then I post something wacky and off the wall, like "Have you ever passed wind, but it wasn't wind?" and get a million responses..go figure--Oh btw...I DO plan to go to your Renaissance Fair discussions but I've been busy lately with writing articles, and today I was working on my crafts all day...I'm still envious that you have such great events like that...

For me Grandpa I don't expect to much responses form most of my discussion coz I know and I do understand that not all can't relate and interested in my discussion specially when they are not on my friends list. I just feel sad sometimes when my dearest friends are not responding too, I just thought and wish to see them in my discussion to participate and see their views about it. For me even little amount of responses is fine as long I saw my dearest friends are participating.

Hey Bob, I just made a post the first one in a long time and I got roughly 18 replies, Maybe the people on your list isn't getting the e-mails that they are suppose to get.. I haven't been around much so i haven't been replying to many people's posts.. WAY to much happening, That could just be it too... I am not to sure.. Hopefully though things will pick up again... I haven't started very many discussions but the one's I have started didn't get many responses, so I gave up on that aspect. Unless I experience something worth discussing, I'll just try to find discussions to reply to. If you ask me I think lack of responses is a big turn off for many and that's why some of them aren't around. I know others are tired of the "hub bub" around here, so they're not around. I also have another though that comes to mind. Mylot has been around long enough now that they need to implement new ideas to keep the site fresh and happening. People get tired of the same ole same ole, especially when the incentive is lowered. I'm sure we'd all love a good amount of responses, but it's disappointing to get none or just a few. I think it's even harder for those just starting out because if they're not on the 1st couple of pages, they tend to get lost. I don't consider my posts to be my work, but I do put thought into my posts/replies. I think it merits something. You seem to be a pretty popular guy around here so hearing this from you has me a little more concerned than I already was. I hope Mylot realizes what's going on and comes up with some ideas to get this place hopping again.

I think Ive been getting as low as 4 responses but honestly grandpa Bob, it doesn't worry me. A lot od my so called friends never answer my threads at all and the ones that usually do are not around as much or have lost enthusiasm for the place. All I know is that I'm staying and I will just go with the flow.

I like to get at least 10 responses. However, if it's something I'm thinking about more from a personal aspect than a "discussion" one, I'm okay with getting just one response from a close friend. It really depends on why I started the discussion, I guess. For me, a lot of what I like about mylot is talking to people from really varied backgrounds and learning a lot about others, so I like when I get a lot of different responses to my discussions. However, I also like when my close friends show up on discussions I didn't expect them to be interested in, which has been happening to me a lot lately. That makes me feel really special. =) I think the discussion I had that had the most responses was around 120-something, but that's been a long time ago. More often I get somewhere between 20 and 40, and once in a while I'll get about 70. I guess it really just depends on what I'm writing about. I have some interests that are kind of obscure, and so of course I realize when I start discussions on those I'm not going to get that many responses. If I do so anyway, it's because I really want to know if anyone else is interested, or find someone to talk about that topic with.

I think that with the end of summer, the labor day holiday, the beginning of school...and people are temporarily reprioritizing. Just hang in there and people will soon return..in droves. Now if only they gave us a raise, so that we can do some Christmas shopping..and the place would really be hot.

I would say I don't expect more responses with some of my discussion I just thought maybe some can't relate and some are bored to participate in my discussion specially the one that not in my friends list. But sometimes I also wish that to see my friends who is in my list to participate in all of my discussion for me even though it is not many at least I saw my dearest friends who participate on my discussion.

o , so boring , but i can promise that i will response carefully to any discussion, i think money is not the best , i have become love here gradually

Definetely, people take some time to get used to these discussions. It is nice that you got 40 responses for some discussion. I have never got even ten. What is the difference?? Just help me out! May be now a days, people are becoming busy doing online jobs, etc. So, may be the no. of comments reduced from a great 40 to good 20!!! thats great yaa! so, if u don mind, just help me out!

I have been fortunate on most of my responses ... Knock on Wood ... that I get around 20 or 30 responses, there was a discussion I did a few months ago that got over 100 responses, I was amazed, but I don't post that many discussions and I know it helps to have loads of friends, you probably have more than me, what I was thinking was perhaps most of your friends have left, I checked mine not too long ago and was surprised that most had not been online with myLot in months, several months. I wish you the best, you know I will always try to answer your discussion even if I don't have anything to contribute to the topic, at least I try cause you are my friend. Be well.

Well, as I had said in my last discussion, I'm far way now and have got chance to come online today just luckily;) ..... Hi Grandpa Bob, I'm actually just reading your discussion now, and it's already early Monday here. I was online earlier on Saturday, and then not again, and then not at all on Sunday. Sometimes, one thing leads to another, and the time slips away. I've noticed this too lately, along with everything else. My latest discussion only has 3 responses, and I didn't think it was that bad (haha). The most I've ever received, was 55 I believe, back many months ago, when I was quite new. Sometimes, I start a topic not expecting much, and it explodes. Other times, I start one expecting quite a few, and am disappointed. I'm not sure why this is, but do know that quite a few of my 'friends' must've left here. I'm going to check, and see when they've last been on etc. ASAP. Most of my discussions as of late usually have only a few, less than 10. I have had some with more than 20 and boy, did that make me happy! I guess with school starting, summer is over, users moving to other chat sites, it's hard to keep up with it all. I will admit, I've been spending more time with yuwie, but I still try to get at least 10 responses in a day.

Well, well Grandpa Bob,,, seems like you got plenty of responses to this one !! I really don't carre how many responses I get here. If I start a discussion, and someone wants to respond, great, if not, great...lol. I would like to have more of my friends responding like before, but it seems as if they have all disappeared for now. I hope you get all the responses that you want.
