Speaking of Moms, my mother-in-law who happens to be a korean is called by her siblings as omoni or umma. It's her 5th visit here in the Philippines. The 1st was when TO his son and me got amrried. The second was a year after our wedding and following that year was when I coceived our baby and gave birth on December 1, 2002, that time she immediately decided to go the Philippines to assist me in my needs and to teach the basics of motherhood. She was the one who bathe her grandson to the hottest temperature ever I imagined for a baby so small. Of course, I trusted her coz her hands spells magic, the therapeutic relief it gives. At that time she was so full of strength, I manage to return to work and she takes care of the house. She manages to wash babys clothes, iron and the best part cook our food. The 3rd visit was on Jin's 1st birthday, of course appa (Jins father) was so happy, though Jin didn't have around him his other lola, who died early that same year but in spirit so very much alive. On the 2nd birthday of Jin, har omoni was also around, however on the 3rd birthday she was not able to pay us a visit and she expects us to be around with her in busan, korea. We managed to go to korea for a visit only last quarter of last year, just the same omoni misses her grandson so much as Jin is the youngest among her grandchildren. So she decided one more time to visit this year, she still manage to fly alone just to visit her grandson. I thought she will still be the same full of vigor, it was only now I realized that her health was slowly deteriorating at the age of 77, she cannot anymore take long walks, cannot move fast to cook. This visit she made, I was touched so much of her gesture, she manage to prepare chapchae and kimbap for me just to bring something for my office mates. She was very happy to see her grandson so stong full of vitality, there was no dry moment with jin on her side. Yesterday she go back to Korea, this was the shortest of her visit, this made us one more time sad to say goodbye to her. To Omoni thank you so much for your presence that make us strong, for sharing your time and talent. Your dedication to instill values in life will never be forgotten. Kamsamhamnida Omoni..Sarangheyo..May the Good Lord Bless your with more life to live, your strngth illuminates and touches everyone dear to your heart. Once again thank you.
