I'm probably going to be buying my Halloween candy in the next few weeks before all the good stuff is gone. I usually make up little bags for the kids. So I was wondering, what kind of candy do you hand out? What was you favorite halloween treat when you were a kid?

I never lived in a neighborhood to give out candy or go trick or treating. My parents always took my brother and I over to our grandparents. My grandparents still live in the same house my dad grew up in so we got to trick or treat the same place he did. I was never a big candy person either, so I hardly ate most of my candy that I would gather. I don't like chocolate much so a lot of the chocolate would go to my mom, a choco fiend! I think the best thing is when you get a plethora of stuff. Also, when people hand you more than just ONE thing. Sometimes toys are always fun too. I remember there were some people who would give you wax teeth and stuff like that... not open of course. package sealed! Plus the setup is always good. Like if the people are dressed up and outside too! I hated having to knock on the doors and say trick or treat. There was one house that you'd have to go up to and there was always a guy in a coffin on your way up the sidewalk who would scare the crap out of you when you were going up!

I love when the house and people are all decorated and costumed too. It makes it feel more like Halloween that way. A little scare makes the night more memorable and I appreciate all the effort some people put in. I'll be decorating the house, but I'm not sure how much yet.

My biggest pet peeve as a kid was always the ones who stayed inside. It's rarely ever *that* cold outside that you can't be outside (at least in my area) and I just hated having to knock on doors. as I got older and my bro and I could go without our parents with us, we'd avoid those houses a lot of times. ha ha.

Well my mother has never let me and my siblings go out and trick or treat. We would just buy our favorite kinds of candy and just settle down and watch movies.

I guess I'm lucky because I live in a secure building and the kids never come up the stairs because they know they can't get in without ringing one of 18 bells.
