I adore my honey dion't get me wrong, and it is not like I have met very many straight guys that have kept a nice clean and neat living area. However I just don't get it! It is frustrating as heck! I do clean and since I moved in with my newest boyfriend I have been cleaning his home. Mind you he has lived here for four years and seems to have a phobia of throwing things away and tidying up. In fact though he knew that his house was a sty when first i started cleaning it he complained and told me to stop cleaning his house because it embarrased him and made him feel bad. Still I continue on cleaning. The first month that I was here i did 26 loads of laundry, how many were mine, 2. It seems that he is so busy that he felt like it was easier to go and buy new clothes than it was to do his laundry. Hello the laundry room is attached to your bedroom and no one is that busy. I have now lived here two months and though I clean, he messes and he has when nagged, cleaned specific things. He is sliow to do it, he doesn't seem to see the point of tidying up a small house because he says that it just get's dirty again and that his home cannot be kept clean because it is too small. Hello, the house canno be kept clean because two people are makeing a mess and only one is cleaning it, when she has time. Why are men such slobs?

He is one of those men who was born in the fifties whose mother did no0t instil in them a need for nor any skills for organization or housekeeping because back then men were not expected to be self sufficient and were expected to marry fairly young so they mostly felt that it was a waste of a boys time and outdside his sphere of interests.

Im not sure why. But i sure wish i knew how to get them to clean up their own messes and quit being such a slob. Is it really the fact that he has a phobia of throwing things away? I thought maybe it was just the fact he didnt want to do it. But i dont know your boyfriend so im not going to pass judgement. Good luck with the whole situation.

He freely admits that he doesn't throw things away and he doesn't know why. When I cleaned out our medicine cabinet in the bathroom I found 11 deoderant contatiners that were completely empty. MInd you he knows when he is out of deoderant because he goes and buys more but why keep the empties?? He leaves things laying around that are obviously trash. He can't find anything unless he asks me and I have only lived here for two months.

LOL OH HELL NO! out of 26 loads TWO WERE YOURS?? thats insane! and whats sad is my 41 yr old brother will be like that when our mom kicks it (she still does his laundry when he doesnt have a gf to do it for him..he also goes there every day to shower which still boggles my mind LOL)...Oddly enough though, he's the only guy i know who is like that...my husband is a NEAT FREAK as is my bf and come to think of it alot of my ex's were too...In fact my brother and his roommate are the only two guys I can think of that are slobs like that!

True men are real fools & slobs. Maybe because they are so foolishly trusting their partner just for the one reason that they love them. True we are slobs & fools & all that & more. I'm sorry if I made no real sense here & if I was nowhere close to the topic of discussion.

Point very right. I think I see from this that men or women, both are equally responsible. Some men are slobs & then again, some women are too :) I have many experiences in life which has taught me that women are not to be trusted. But that hasn't been my decision. I came to the conclusion that everyone is the same whether man or woman. I think that is a fair & just decision.

Oh this is a hard one to repsond to because I have seen this on both parts...My hubby is one of the cleanest men that I ever seen. He is always helping me clean and keeping things cleaned. His mom was one of the cleanest people you would ever see. But she has 3 daughters and my husband..Adn 2 of the daughters are the biggest pigs I have ever seen in my life...His one sister left this one appartment and left her mom to clean it out and take care of her things..I helped her clean it..It took us no lie 3 days just to get all the trash out of there...All together they had to empty a dumpster twice of her trash alone! I just don't understand how anyone man or woman could ever live like that? I'm just glad my hubby never took after his siters.LOL I was a lucky one!

I have rarely seen a man who keeps things neat and tidy and one of my ex's had 5 sisters, though he would keep the toilet seat down even at his own place he would not clean for nothing. In fact he is still a pig. I don't know how people can allow themselves to live like that but they do. It is a shame and a pity that they can't all go take home ec and clean up their stys.
