Happy Teachers' Day to all teachers and those on the way to becoming teachers

China

To begin with, I am a Chinese English teacher. It is my day to celebrate this special day of us teachers. In China, the government set up a date to celebrate teachers' day twenty-two years ago, which was the year 1985. Ever since then, we have had September 10th as Teachers' Day to show great respect and gratitudeness to all the teachers for their wonderful work to help the great cause of education to help the country develop numerous talents in different walks of life. I have been engaged in teaching for as long as twenty-four years and I like my job so much. I love all of my students and they love me as well. I have a very good teacher-student relationship with not only my students but my colleagues as well. From yesterday till now, I keep receiving messages from my students saying "Happy teachers' Day". Yeah, here let me say sincerely from the bottom of my heart, "Happy Teachers' Day to all of the teachers and those who are on the way to becoming teachers. May this Day of ours be blessed as always. Thanks."

Good morning william.. Hey, I don't know that you are a teacher. :) Cool... I admire teacher so much. They taught us many things and they just did it because they want to see how their students to have more knowledge and smarter. I have a teacher who really kind and attentive. He paid attention to everything I did, not only my homework. I learned a lot from him. Back in my country, we don't have Teacher's Day. There is a song for teacher, but seems like everybody here underestimate the role of a teacher. Maybe it's because teaching has low paid in my country? Too bad... William, Happy Teacher's Day to you... Keep on the teaching spirit !

Hey, friend. Speaking of teachers status, I have something more to tell you about their poor status before the eighties during the so-called Great Cultural Revolution started in the middle sixties till 1976, when the 'Gang of Four' was making China such a mess. Teachers suffered so much during the period and their pay was rather low. To my great happiness, it is now quite different from the past. Teachers are well respected and get much higher pay than they used to. Many young graduates are willing to find jobs as a teacher... Ok, I enjoyed your comment, friend. Good day.

There are many foreigner teaching English in China. They come from different countries. Most of them come from America among those countries. Also there are many teachers from the Philippines. All of these foreign teachers mainly teach spoken English. You are welcome to teach spoken English in China. If you would like to, I would like to offer some information to you as a friend.

Hello my friend Williamjisir. We should always remember the contribution made by our teachers. If it's not their hard work and preaching, we will not be educated and knowledgeable as what we are today. We should appreciate their sacrifice and we in turn should always contribute to the society with our skills learned from them. I had many great teachers since primary and secondary school and I never forget them. But unfortunately, I didn't have chance to see them anymore after I left the school. Confucious always emphasize in respecting our teachers and their teachings. I am happy that people in your country also prioritize the teacher day. In fact both my parents are teacher but they had retired years ago. Fortunately, they still get their pension from government. I read this discussion late, but still I wish you happy teaching!

It's true. So by teaching, you are actually doing good deeds everyday! In fact, I am teaching tuitions during weekend nowdays. The students are two primary kids. An elder brother and a younger sister. They are not the outstanding students, but willing to learn. And my task is helping them to comprehend on what had been taught in class. I am collecting fee comparatively lower than the market, because I am not a trained teacher and does not have any experience in teaching (they are my very first students LoL).

Hello dear cheongyc. I am glad to know that your parents are also teachers. So they are in the same line as I am. Yeah, teachers are those who teach us a lot with their great learning that we can always benefit from them to enable us to be knowledgeable. Instead we are also using what we have learned to repay the society with all of our might. Thanks again, my dear friend.

So you are working as a tutor in your spare time, which is a very good practice as a teacher. It is the same here in China that many college students tutor students of different levels and ages to make some extra money and their charging fee is relatively lower than a teacher does because of the experience of teaching. Thanks again for responding, my dear friend.

Hello, I am glad to know that you are also tutoring students at home in the evening. In China, many teachers do the same thing in their spare time for extra money. I feel happy to know the date of your Teachers' Day, on the fifth of September. I must say "Happy Teachers' Day to you", my friend.

I'm a preschool teacher, but I was surprised by all the cards I got this morning. I guess I just assumed people only thought of Teacher's Day as for school teachers. It was very sweet and sentimental to be included on this day by my class' parents.

On your Teachers' Day, let me wish you a HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY. I am not in the teaching profession, but my wife is a teacher. She has taught 26 years, so slightly longer than you have. I get lots of updates from her about this profession, the school scene and the kinds of challenges and pressures teachers go through, so I do know what teaching is like. I admire teachers, because it is a very noble profession and one dedicated to shaping the future of the country's children into responsible adults. I hope you will continue to find your job challenging and fulfilling in the years ahead.

Hello my dear friend, successlog. Long time no see. I am very happy to see your response in this discussion that will never be out of date though it was posted one year ago. Thank you so much for your nice greeting to me. It is good to know that you have met so many good teachers, especially your English teachers. It is true indeed that a good teacher, who values you a lot, is of a great help to you in your study. But your own interest in the subject is foremost. Glad to know that you were one of the outstanding students during your high school and college period. Good luck to you as well, my dear friend.

This is the day to remember all our teachers and pay them tribute to their selfless dedicated hardwork in bringing up the citizens of the future. It is said that teachers are like candle, they burn themselves out to give light to others.

Am a trained teacher myself williamjisir, although I now do something else-teaching in my country is despised, but teachers are the most adored professionals surprisingly, they charn out the best brains for the country-the irony is that they are not well paid. They also dont have room for corruption like in the public service but when I used to teach, my greatest satisfaction would be to see my students pass their exams in first grade. I meet many of the people i taught, they never stop respecting me-that is the joy of teaching. I am happy for you and for all the teachers of the world, why? because what would the world be without teachers?

I am sorry to hear that teachers are not well paid in your country. Here in China, teachers' pay is much better than it used to before 2000. Many people love to work as teachers for the good pay compared with other lines. If you like, you could easily find an English teaching job in China. Lots of foreign English teachers are invited to teach spoken English in many schools. It is really to imagine what the world be without teachers. I feel proud to be a teacher as always. Happy Teachers' Day to you, my academic friend. I am so happy to know that we are in the same line. Have a good day, friend.

“Happy Teachers’ Day” Dear Sir. Here I send my sincere greeting to the highly respected teacher, Mr williamjisir. From your story about your closed relationship with your students and colleagues I understand that you are really a responsible and honorable teacher. In my country here, we celebrate teachers’ day on the 16th of May. Teachers are honored as the engineer of human souls. I really appreciate their efforts in the materialization of the educated and ideal world. Happy teaching and enjoy your teachers’ day.
