What does the new Bin Laden tape mean to you?

There was just a new video from Osama Bin Laden released this week, the first one in over three years. Much has been said about his appearance, how his beard is now black instead of gray and he looks in better health than on the last tape. As for the content, well he doesn't make any specific threat but he tell us we'll be in danger of another attack on Americans as long as the war against the Muslims continues. He speaks of the Democratic take-over of Congress but how they have failed to end the war as they had been elected to do, saying they are "just as bad" as the Bush Administration. Ok, myLotters, what does this new tape mean to you, what does it make you think and feel? Does it remind you how "lucky" we are to have Bush as President, someone who won't give up the "war on terror"? Or does it remind you instead that we seemingly abandoned our search for him...that's obvious since he's able to make and release this video...and instead moved our concentration into Iraq? Remind you of Bush's statement that "I donn't think about him much"? Does it make you angry, frightened, sad and/or just plain frustrated? Is the spin that's likely to come from both political parties going to do anything to sway your opinion? It had been said before and I heard it again the other day that John Kerry thought the Bin Laden tape released shortly before the 2004 election may have cost him the Presidency. Did it sway YOUR vote then and would it now? Annie

I don't buy it for a minute. How exactly does a man on the run go from having a grey beard to a black beard? When did he have time to stop and get his hair done? What's more, I've read a few reports from video analysts who took a look at the video. According to them, same background, same clothes, same desk, same angle. A closer look revealed both the video and audio had been spliced multiple times. Regardless, I don't see the point of waving the news of this video around as something significant. Our country has already clearly shown it has little interest in actually looking for Bin Laden, so why are people buying into the hype? To remind of us why we were supposed to be going over to the middle east in the first place? To renew our hope that we might one day catch the bad guy? This video doesn't sway my opinions on our foreign policy at all- I'm still voting for a candidate that wants us out of there soon. As for Bush's statement about not thinking much about Bin Laden, I'm not surprised. I'm not sure Bush thinks much at all.

I'm voting for Ron Paul, he was opposed to the involement in Middle East. As far as Bin Laudin, I don't know if he is alive, it may be a double, have you ever seen the movie Moon over Parador? The president has a double to keep the peace in the nation. I think this tape is made up, only because I didn't shoot it.I think the Gov't want us to think we are going to be bombed, by the Muslims, well I know they don't like us but to come over and bomb us I don't know about that. I think there is a conspiracy, to have the American people think we are in danger, so we must give up our civil rights, like the Patriot Bill. The gov't will have complete control over the people, martial law, like in New Orleans, after Katrina. Any body else think this way?

I thnk it makes him look rediculous. First off, he's used hair dye on his beard! For someone so anti-western that's a complete no go! But seriously though, he obviously made it to be shown after the attacks in Germany had happened. Unfortunately for him, our amazing intelligence agencies are much smarter than his guys, foiling their plans. Really he should not have even bothered showing it. His main messege was 'convert to Islam and this will end'. What planet is he living on? There is no way on Earth he is going to threaten us into submitting to a religion and culture we don't understand or identify with. What kind of people does he think we are? If anything I think it would make more Muslims want to convert from Islam to Christianity or Athiesm. He's a shame and embarassment to the Muslim faith!

Sadly, there seems to be more Christians converting to Islam than Islams converting to Christianity. I don't know why, in fact I think it's absurd, but look at the American men who have converted and turned into terrorist-wannabes?
