Missed all my favorite TV shows last season! Need updates.

Last season I missed all my favorite TV shows, including Smallville, Lost and Desperate Housewives. Not sure why I would miss them. I watched a few episodes during the first part of the season and when everyone went to mid-season break, I just got out of the TV watching habit. Now that shows are about to premiere for the fall season, I am woefully behind on plot lines. Can someone tell me what happened on last season of Lost and Desperate Housewives? And, please be kind, don't tell me how it all ended on the season finale, just give me a few highlights from the season if you would. Did Mike and Susan ever patch things up on Desperate Housewives? Has anyone new moved onto Wisteria Lane or died? And, for Lost, I heard that the kid came back as a grown man. Is that true? Or just a rumor? How could he be grown? Are they in some sort of time warp? Updates, please!
