The worst way I broke up with someone: over E-mail. It was a very short relationship (less than a month), and he E-mailed me to find out what was wrong, since he wouldn't ask me in person, nor would I tell him in person what was wrong. Keep in mind, he came to see me at work, so I didn't want to break up with him while I was supposed to be working. The worst way someone broke up with me: repeatedly, over about 6 months. He would break up with me and then we would get back together, only to break up again. This happened 3 or 4 times over the course of these 6 months. I finally just completely stopped talking to him, to the point of leaving my apartment when he came to visit my roommate. That finally worked.
