How long does it take you to post one discussion or reponse on My Lot?

For me, it seems that each discussion posted takes anywhere from three to fifteen minutes. And, no matter how fast I type, it doesn't go faster. So, I cap myself on number of discussions or responses that I can post in one days time. Most times I try to type at least several paragraphs to provide enough information for the readers. I don't like one liner discussions, maybe you could tell! And, that slows me down a lot.
So, how long does it take you to post a response or discussion? Do you find that it takes longer to post a response if you are not that familiar with the topic being discussed? Do you think we would get paid as much for posting simple one liner discussions versus longer discussions?

It really depends on the subject. If I have a lot to say it takes me longer and if not I can do it in a few seconds. We definitely don't get paid for one liners at all!

Regarding my typing speed, I don't mean to sound like a braggart but I do type a lot of words in a minute. I have undergone two typing subjects namely Typing 1 & Typing 2 during my college days since these are in our curriculum. The only reason I am slowed down is our slow internet connections. Just last week, we encountered problems regarding our connections. It took me fifteen to twenty minutes just logging on to myLot. It's really irritating.
On the average, I believe I take two to five minutes posting or replying a discussion. Depending on my mood and how much views I want to share, I usually exceed five or six lines. It also depends on my interest on the topic or subject.

That's a really good speed for posting. Indeed I have much room for improvement.

Usually I take around five minutes to reply to a discussion. I like to type at least five lines of answers, because I believe a quality discussion cannot be achieved with answering with only one line. And I personally feel we should be rewarded more if we post more lines in our discussions. In this way we are treated fairly and many more people will start to post more quality discussions in the future.
But personally I have noticed that the length of our discussions do play a role in our payment. When I post more lines in a discussion, I notice my payment is slightly higher than if I post less lines. But the difference is not that much though. I suggest that mylot pays double for the people who contribute to a more quality discussion in the future. I hope mylot will really make this into a reality.
Who knows, it might happen in the near future? I am eager to wait for it, for sure. Have a nice day ahead, beautyqueen26!

Each response or new discussion is different- It depends on:
If I’m uploading pictures.
How long I make the discussion.
How many typos I make
If my mind is on other things.
I don’t post to things I know nothing of- so usually the words are coming out of my brain quicker than my fingers can type- : ( I’d say a couple of minutes on average.

It really depends on what I am writing about, and how well I know the subject. As you know, sometimes my replies are pretty long, and sometimes they aren't. I would say that some of my responses only take a minute or two, since I do type pretty fast. But some of the other responses I make take probably 5-10 minutes.
If I have distractions (namely Elliott!), sometimes it takes me even longer to finally get one finished.

I hear you! Mine is always darting in and out of the area doing her own things and I have to keep a close eye on her. Not much time when she is awake to spend online, but when she is asleep, I can post all night.

I've never timed myself when posting a discussion or a response. I think both take me about the same amount of time though. Usually i get started typing and i just ramble on. I'm at home with toddlers all day so when i get to say or type something adult i usually run with it.
i haven't noticed a difference in pay based on the length of my responses. is it true you get paid more if you right a long response? most of my responses are atleast 5 sentences long. I always try to give a thoughtful answer.

i'm not sure, sometimes it take only 1 minutes, and sometimes it will take over 10 minutes. it is up to my mood, and the difficulity of the discussion.
if i have a discussion in my mind, then it is easy for me to post it. just in 1 minutes.
if i post responses to friends' discussions, then i will spend 3-10 minutes for each discussion. if i know the discussion very well, then it is easy to give me a response, if the discussion is too difficult to understand or it is too long, then i will spend over 10 minutes.

For a discussion, it takes me a few minutes to really type them down, provided I have already structured in my mind what it is all about and I'm really excited of how the others would comment on it. But of course, I rarely post discussions because I want that the discussions I make would be 'interesting' for the general public.
As for the comments, it takes me more minutes than the posting of discussions. Why? because I tend to look at some of the posts first. If there are posts with the same idea as to what my comment would be, I would join my post there in that comment. Plus of course, I would read and reread the discussion topic first so as to understand what the author would really want.
Plus there are moments where I want to post pictures and it takes me a long time to search for good and fitting photos and pictures for my comment or the topic itself.
So all-in-all, it takes for me several minutes per post. But sometimes it's really quick depending on my 'mood' *LOL*. Plus, since I really type very fast, so I don't have problems in typing. It's more of the ideas and how to convey such ideas so as the reader won't be bored at all.
Good luck. Nice topic by the way.
=)

It takes me a while sometimes for my brain to kick in and get up to speed, other times I look at the discussions and all is a blur. Yesterday it took me so long to type a response ( though it was a bit of a venting) that by the time I had posted it, there were 5 others that had responded to the discussion.

It can take me even 20 minutes xD And my posts aren't too long. I think it's because I'm not so fluent in english and so I have to check words in the dictionary from time to time. And when I post a discussion I often sit and read it twice before posting, so I can asure myself it will be clear and understandable for others.
Idon't know what is paid more: lots of oneliners orfew long responses but I've read somewhere that as the end of the month aproaches mylot moderators tend to delete too short, spam or irrelevant posts. So onliner makers may suddenly lost some of their incomes :P

Almost same in here. It takes me atmost like 15 minutes to post a discussion. The responses come faster, because i choose to respond only to discussions which i am familiar with or the topics am comfortable in. No idea about the payment procedure in mylot. Its been confusing me for months. Some days which am active the lest produce most money sometimes. It seems funny. And now i feel that the discussions are paid according to the usefulness and responses, and not the length of the discussions we post.
This took me 5 min ;)
