i was already 18 when i had my ears pierced. and i only did that coz my sister gave me a present i could not refuse, a pair of stud heart-shaped earrings that i really loved back then. my mom didn't have my ears pierced when i was a baby coz she doesn't want me to have an allergic reaction to earrings just like some of the babies in the neighborhood experienced at the time. when i was 4, some of my friends and cousins had their ears pierced but i got discouraged when i heard their wailings. :) at present, yes i wear earrings everyday but i take them off when at home especially my loop earrings and i don't sleep with my earrings on. sometimes they get tangled in my hair when in bed so i make sure i get them off before i sleep. :)

I too had a pair that was red stone heart-shaped studs.I just loved them.I never took them out after the time came to change the studs.I cannot sleep with them in at all.I have one in the left upper corner of my ear that i leave in all the time,it doesnt bother me there.:)

I got them done when I about 8 with my Stepmother. Then when I was 11 my Mom gave me a pair of little gold earrings with ball backings on them. The little ball backings slid inside my earlobes and the skin on the back of my ears closed. They had to cut my earlobes to get them out. Now I have one hole in each ear (I used to have 2) and I only wear posts in them. AT PEACE WITHIN ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

This is something I have never had the courage to get done, even if I plucked up the courage to have the actual piercing done I am not sure I could change the earings as I hate even watching people do it, I am such a sook. I have a friend who worked in a jewellery shop and I used to go visit her at the shop at times and I used to think oh how I wish I could wear something like these, I even tried screw on ones at time but I found tthem uncomfortable..but then I think I have always had longish hair so no-one would really see them anyway, so I stay with naked ears....hahahah

Hi peanutjar! I didn't get my ears pierced until I was older (about 14 or 15), and I'm glad my mom left the decision up to me as they are my ears lol. I used to sleep with them in, but I hardly ever wear them anymore. Too many kinds of earrings turn my ears green, it's a nasty sight! I am going to let my daughter decide as well when she is old enough and mature enough, if she wants her ears pierced or not.

Hi PurpleTeddyBear! My daughter got her ears pierced last year(3 1/2 yrs old).It was her that decided she wanted them done! She had alot of little friends who had them and wanted them too.I told her that it would hurt alittle and if she was really sure she wanted them, she could. After 2 weeks of seeing if she was REALLY ready(plus the bugging all the time)We went ,no crying or nothing. She wanted to cry though, but i said no crying before. She held it all in!What a big girl!!lol:)
