Today I have got a mail like
Dear Sir/Madam,
There is an issue with the WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER in the amount of $500.000.00 USD directed in cash credited to file KTU/9023118308/03, at the owner of this email address. The INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND contacted us for your conpensation a couple of hours ago due to your allocated security code.
They said that they choose to send it to an email address instead of a name. We are unable to complete a transfer directed at an email address, so we require some more information in order to complete this transfer.

That is definitely a spam and a scam... i get a lot of that in my bulk mail... i don't bother with them...i just delete them... people who send that kind of email are looking for people who are gullible or naive enough to answer them... then victimize them afterwards...

well that sounds like a scam to me. why would anyone send you money without your knowledge. it sounds incredible to send $500,000 to an email address. there is no way this is legit. it's best you just ignore this email. don't reply to them or give out any information about yourself. best is if you can direct it to your spam folder and block the sender.

Yeah uh... the IMF doesn't have a ledger keeping track of who owns what e-mail address...
This isn't just spam though, oh no. The information they (very badly) trick you into giving them is going to be used to steal your identity and/or money.
Do not reply.
Better yet, sign up that address for spam to give the scammers a headache when they try to sift for victims.

It is a scam..Too good to be true..so I'm sure it's not true. I get lot's of it too and I don't bother reading it, more so give it a thought, I hope people behind these scams will realize that they can no longer lure people into these things and stopped doing that. It's very annoying, now they even use real company names likle western union, hope that e-mail reach western union people so they would know that some jerk people are using thier name.
