I have just finished my first real, full-length Historical Non-Fiction book about my father's army unit in Korea from 1950-1953. My father was one of the many editor's of the unit's newsletter which had two titles, The Atlanta-Baltimore Star and Traffic Talk. My father left most of the newsletters and I used them as a premise for writing the book. There were editorials, funny jokes, news about a Korean orphanage, news from the home front and news about the war itself. I think this is a great period in history because it is one that sent us into the future of warfare. What I mean about this is that this is the first full conflict where the helicopter and the jet fighter were used regularly. It was a period of time when doctors who worked in the MASH units spent time developing new ways to perform operations as well as work with some known and unknown diseases. The Korean War was a time to reflect on the past wars and begin to focus on what the future was looking like when it came to fighting wars like Vietnam and the Gulf Wars. My questions here are, what are your interests in the period of time 1950-1953, how much do you really know about the Korean War and do you feel that North Korea is serious about peace with the world now as inspectors are arriving to review its nuclear intentions or do you think that they are attempting to dupe the world, especially the United States into thinking that they are not so bad after all?

what are your chances of publishing this? is it an obscure market? i am a history fanatic and am very interested in war (kinda weird for a girl, ya i know...) but i am interested in the whole decade of the 60's and particularily the vietnam war. i am interested in korea as well, but i dont know as much about that 'war'/police action...canada sent many soldiers to this war and its a shame we dont know more...

I think my chances are pretty good. I am going to put it up for sale on my website and then eventually Ebay. I am working on getting it into the bookstores as well. I think the Korean War/Police Action was a conflict that was unique in itself for the things that I described in my discussion. Thanks for your reply, your interest and look forward to reading your comments.
