I don't even know where to start. I love spicy food as many of you do. I’m not scared of the hottest dishes. I will eat a habanera by itself. I don't do this on regular occasions but it has happened. For a person who likes spice so much, I don’t know much about peppers. I know the basics of course, jalapeno, habanera, and cayenne. I don’t even feel like I have scratched the surface. There are so many varieties out there and I want to try them all! So, tell me your favorite spicy pepper or spicy cooking secret recipe. Mine currently involves the jalapeno. I like it not for its spiciness but for its flavor. I just cook them up with a little zucchini, soy, garlic, ginger, and fermented black beans, YUM!!

You are right, there is a wide variety of hot peppers out there. Like you, I don't know all of them but I have tried a lot of them. Fresh peppers are abundant during late summer and early fall at Farmer's Markets. If you have access to a local market, I would suggest you check it out. I have found several new to me varieties there. Lots of gardener's like to show off their produce to the public. Have you tried jalapeno's stuffed? Cut your jalapeno in half lengthwise, and remove seeds and membrane. Make a mix of cream cheese and sausage(cooked bulk) with a little chopped onion and place in the jalapeno, wrap with half a slice of bacon and bake for 20 min. at 375.
