How much allowence??

my daughter has been getting allowance every week.. we give her $2/per week (shes 6) however she has to earn her allowance by putting her dirty clothes in the washroom and making her bed in the morning.. of course when she heads off to school ill go and actually make it its just the fact that she does it herself.. to try an teach her values and resposibilty.. Now there are times where on top of that allowance her dad has given her $5 because she helps him mow the lawn and rake or what not.. she offers all the tiem to help do the dishes adn ill pay her some thing for that.. she also on her own helps her dad take the trash out, she like s to tie the bag and open the door for him and then put a new bag in the barrel.. and when she does that i will sneak a few bucks into her piggy bank, but i will tell her she can go to the store and pick out a treat as a thank you or good job.. regardless that $2 she gets everyweek... if she doesnt do her chores i tell her its taken away but i really go in an put it in her bank anyways..

I don't have any kids so I don't know what the norm is these days. When I was a kid and I wanted something or to go to a movie my parents would pay for it or buy it for me as long as I was deserving. When I was a teenager in the late 70's I got $20 a week as long as I did my chores. Pretty good deal I thought back then and it gave me the freedom to race off to the record store when my favorite artists would release a record!
