Sorry guys I haven't posted for a while. I have gained a pound this week. I went traveling with my husband and we ate out and then this weekend was my birthday and I wanted Papa John's Pizza. Boy did I over eat. LOL! I am also getting myself a couple of part time jobs, so I am going to be busy. Well here is today's exercise: Plie squat with chest press SETUP Stand with feet hip-width apart and toes pointing out, legs slightly turned out at the hips, chest lifted, abdominals tight. Hold one end of tubing in each hand and wrap tube across upper back, elbows pointing straight out to each side, wrists straight, in line with elbows and facing floor. ACTION Using chest muscles, straighten elbows and press wrists in toward center of body; simultaneously step out with right leg into a deep plié squat. Keeping chest lifted, return elbows to their starting positions while bringing left foot in toward right. Do 10-15 repetitions. Strengthens chest, front shoulders, buttocks and inner thighs. Today's Recipe: Fudgy Cherry-Pistachio Rounds Minimal cooking is the trick to giving these cookies their soft, fudgy texture. Ingredients 5 tablespoons lightly salted butter 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar 1/2 cup light corn syrup 1 large egg 1 large egg white 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup unsweetened Dutch-processed cocoa powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup dried sweet cherries, pitted 1/2 cup pistachios, chopped Directions Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil (shiny side down). In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until fluffy (about 5 minutes). Add corn syrup and beat until blended. Add egg, egg white, and vanilla; beat until creamy and smooth. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, and baking soda. Stir into butter mixture, adding cherries and pistachios. Scoop teaspoons of dough onto baking sheet, 1 inch apart. Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool briefly, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
