How Long since You Have Dressed up for Something?

Well, I am not talking about full formal wear here. Just dress better than usual! I think my mind is corrupted by my job, I often just go to work and go home and when my mom was traveling, all the friends' gatherings would be done at home. I didn't really have that much chance of going on the streets *laughs*. Then I thought, there was really no point for me to dress up so nicely like I used to. Heck with that! I want to be my old self again and tonight since I am meeting a friend, I have an excuse to dress better. *laughs* I think it's been a year since I really dress nicely for something. What about you?

It's been awhile,I don't have anybody to really go out with anymore. My luck with people is really bad. It's okay as long as it's a short term thing but anything beyond that seems to be too much.

I haven't dressed up since I met my boyfriend. I tried to dressreally cute and wear makeup (which I don't normally wear) to impress him. But I always felt so uncomfortable. I like to be lovey dovey, hug and kiss you, jump around and have fun, not sit there and be stiff and pretty. So one day I went to lay my head on his shoulder and my foundation came off on his new dress shirt! I freaked out and didnt tell him. So when he got home he called me and told me he loved me for who I was when he first met me. And that I didnt have to impress him with my looks because I already did with my personality and prior looks...and that I needed to scrub the stain out his shirt. needless to say I am back to my graphic tees and antique jeans (but I dress up on occasion)

*laughs* Good boyfriend you have! I don't dress up for anyone but myself, that's the best reason to dress up for. Oh I like being classy *laughs*.

Hello wondericequeen, It has been quite a long time...say almost 9 months ago. You know what I mean. Since my husband went back to his country, I don't really dress up. I just lost my mood to make up or dress up. I don't really care about grooming too much but I do care for the cleanliness *smiles* I also find there is no point for me to dress up if it not for my husband*smiles* Not like before where I must make sure that every clothes that I wear, the kind of color I put on my face and the accessories must go very well altogether. I love to mix and match and I bet you already knew me pretty well though we never met before. Since yesterday night, I have been thinking of starting my 'grooming class' again, and start to use make up heavily *laughs* What a day....every thing got spoiled this morning when some stupid jerks decided to surprise me with more bad lucks!

I feel for you. Yea I think changing a bit of something would bring your mood back or even do good to your luck! This might sound silly, but when I notice I have bad luck some day, I would dye my hair blue black. I notice that sort of reverse the situation for me. Maybe I am just superstitious but who cares as long as that makes me feel alright. *winks*

2003, I dressed up for a French and North Country weekend dinner/buffet. There really isn't much reason to dress up where I live. Unless you count wearing suits to work, which I did until this past spring. I really wish there was something nice to dress up for that we could afford right now, but there isn't. I'd like a nice suit job again. Suits are easy and come in styles that most people can find one they look good in.

*laughs* Talking about suits! They have my biggest complains ever. Maybe it's really different in the states, I saw some really nice suits in the states when I travel. But those they are selling here with affordable prices are outrageously weird. They don't flatter the body and they make people look clumsy rather than smart - weird! Anyway, I agree that suits make us look better if it's a nice one! *laughs*

Maybe because jeans is in the high-fashion league too?

I rarely dress 'up' for things. I guess holidays are about it. Most days I just wear jeans and a t-shirt or a sweater.

The last time i dressed up was during my college days, putting on a blouse and a mini skirt , my moms stockings and my moms stilleto, getting ready for my role in a school play!and have did it again, that stilleto really hurts!LOL! I do not dress up anymore these days because i do not have any social functions to dress up for anymore not like when i was in the corporate world.MY meetings are more casual so i just wear my jeans,t's and rubber shoes for a hotel meeting or dinner.

It always feels better when one dress up nicely. Ususally, it is done when we are going to attend any party etc. Our clothes should be neat, clean and pressed so that others could know that we have dressing sense.

After having had to dress up for work for way too many years, now that we are retired, we don't dress up for anybody. More by plan than by luck, however, we live in a resort town where the "uniform" is shorts and t-tops. For me, dressing up is wearing regular sandals instead of the topless "Down-Unders" that are bare on top. As for pretty dresses hanging in my closet, they can stay there. It has been at least a year since I put one on. Oh! But yesterday I wore a pair of pretty earrings. Does that count?

Oh yes, sure! Ear-rings definitly counts! Oh I put on my favourite ear-rings today too! I hadn't worn them in a whole year, and I can't really believe it! Shorts and t-tops! Great, sounds really fun to live there *smiles*.

I 'dress up' probably once a month, as I usually attend productions at the local theatre and/or out to dinner with friends or family. Even though it's rarely a big event, it's still an opportunity to wear some of my nice outfits that don't get exercised enough in day to day life =P The last time I dressed up was probably Father's Day, when I went to dinner with my dad. I think that was two weeks ago now =] I'm also going to a Fancy Dress Party at one of my friend's houses in a few weeks, but I don't know if that really counts =P

Oh cool! I like finding "excuses" to dress nicely too! It sort of makes me feel good about myself for some reason *laughs* and I need to "ultilize" those nice outfits so that I don't waste them!
