How do I get my pictures to open on mylot? I try/stalls/nothing happens.

I was so proud of myself. First, I put a picture on my scanner. Then I scanned it in under image. Then it came up on my computer. I saved it. Later, I asked the file to come up, opened it and it worked. I went to both mylot and helium and tried to open my picture for my profile and for my about me pages. I clicked on what I needed to, browse came up, I clicked on the name I had saved it under, on Helium, I hit upload and then my computer stalled out entirely. On Mylot, I filled out the form that goes with the picture and clicked on what I was supposed to underneath and my computer stalled out again. Minutes went by and nothing happened. If something had come up like an error code, it would have helped, but nothing. I retried a couple of times and did laundry thinking it was just slow, but still nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.
